Bottle, gift from Jim- cheers. Amber with a small white head. Malty malty malty with some blackcurrant. A little dirty hop note in the finish but not enough to spoil a good malty English bitter.

500ml bottle: drank at home on 14th Mar 2015. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard and shared with no one. Lively bit of kit, a huge off-white billowing foam head only allowed me to fill half the glass with beer, copper hue to the clear amber body. Nice blend of flavours and well balanced with neither the hops or malts ruling the brew. Woody, nutty and tasty. Semi-sweet malty molasses vie with the mildly bittering hops for your attention and dance around the mouth in perfect harmony: a great start to my evenings mini rating session.

Bottle from Darlington railway station. Appearance -dirty honey colour and decent head. Nose - honey, toffee and hazelnuts. Taste - yep praline again, light biscuit bitterness. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a tangy and fairly dry finish. Overall - quite complex but slightly sweeter than I’d have made it.

Amber pour with minimal head, aroma of hops and malt. Quite weak badyfeel for the ABV. Flavour of toffee and malt with some syruppy sweetness in the aftertaste.
