2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Three Judges, past its best. Aroma is strange, buttery and caramel as hell, but some red wine vingar and basil coming through also. Taste is just purely caramel butter and caramalt.

Copper pint, no real head. Aroma is hoppy, fruit, slightly malt. Taste is malty and some fruit, with a mildly bitter finish. Decent beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 08-11-07 Dark brown almost no head at all. Mild fruity aroma but little else of note. A restrained bitterness and yet this pushes back through at the end, otherwise a decent fruity bitter, quite dry but interesting enough.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2007 A Mes rate: Cask at the Scarborough Hotel, Leeds
Excellent clean, clear golden blonde colour with a good white head and lace. In jolly good condition. Lovely grapefruit and crisp hoppy stuff. Nice and aromatic. Slight dusty notes. Strong dry bitter finish. Lovely mouthfeel that is unusually full for the style. Nice stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy medium dark brown pour covered by a generous, thick-bubbled off-white head. Sweetish brown ale with an assertive nut flavour that develops a certain mild fruitiness. Still quite yeasty throughout where nutty caramel and candy flavours literraly explode in toasty, roasty wonderland. Well-bodied, medium in size and with fair carbonation. Agreeable, mellow smoke undertones give a sweet kiss in mid-palate while almond suggestions are there all along. Very good.

Cask conditioned at Harbury beer fest ’07. Brown to chestnut with white head. A fully flavoured sweetish malty beer of a traditional Northern type. Some coffee and chocolate notes along with a slight hoppiness. Short but satisfying finish. decent enough.
