A-Straw colored with very very slight haze. Sudsy head that dimishes in a few minutes. A-Typical banana nose to identify its Belgian reference. Have a hard time geting much hops. Faint to none. Labled a Double IPA, so I was expecting a moderate amount. T-sweet & bready malt, banana, hint of clove. Again very faint hop profile. P-Carbonation low, Density of the malt is noticable, finishes dry with slight bitterness. O-Its hard to judge this as a Belgian IPA with this little hop character. If it wasn’t for the dry and slight bitterness at the very end I may have guessed a Belgian Golden Ale, which I would have given a better review not having hop expectations. Its still definately a worthy beer to drink for those looking in the Belgian-style category.

Poured from a can. Thin head that is white and foamy but doesn't stay around long. Has beautiful golden color. Hops are not too strong. Slight bitter after taste.

Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grass, resin), with notes of gum, pepper, and plastic. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Better than usual for this brewery...good balance in the mouth. A little plastic in the nose, and kind of simple in that department, but not too shabby.

Golden. Aroma of Belgian strongs and some additional citrus. Flavor is very hoppy, lots of bitterness and some subtle sourness. Jess picked this one up for me on her trip to CO in spring, 2013.

Can pours clear yellow with a medium white head. Smells characteristic Belgian, pear and sugar. Nice sweet taste and mellow palate with a dry, hoppy finish. More so Belgian than India pale ale.

Can. Pours a slighly hazy gold with a half finger of off-white head. Settles quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma is fruity, citrus, spicy, floral, strong belgian yeast influence. Flavor is fruity, citrus, with a very mild hop background. Spicy and yeasty with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Flavor has much more belgian influence than hop flavor. Soft carbonation, medium body, and a smooth texture. Not much ipa character, but a pleasant, fruity, and spicy character. A tasty beer.

12 oz can. Pours hazy straw yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is bready malts and spicy, peppery, slightly funky yeast with some grassy hops.

The flavor is sweet bready malts and slight banana with some earthy yeast and some spicy, peppery grassy hops that give good bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a very nice Belgian IPA. I usually don’t like this style, but this is more of a Belgian pale with amped up peppery bitterness. A nice surprise from Wynkoop.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. Dark yellow color and a lacing white head. Dry hop aroma. Belgian yeast and balanced with hop flavor, what I expect in a Belgian style IPA, even if not as good as the best Belgian examples.

The hops went missing in this one that I sampled as part if a taster tray during GABF weekend. And a real strange though not harsh aroma too. Like a crazy Belgian XPA.

On tap at brew pub. Light color, smallish head. Funky hoppy aroma, some sweety grainy malt. Dry and peppery at the end.
