On tap at Wynkoop. Pour is deep amber with a frothy cream head and great lacing. Big sweet fruits, grapefruit, orange, pineapple, caramel, grapefruit, light bread, and a touch of toffee in the aroma. Taste is citrus, orange peel, biscuit, light grass, weed, candied fruits, caramel, and grapefruit with a medium bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel with high carbonation. Damn decent red ale.

Deep red color. Nose of sweet citrusy hops. Rich hops at the start followed by a Ritchie sweet malt character.

On tap at Hops and Pie. Dark red, decent head, looks like a double red to me. The aroma is downright awful, I couldn’t tell if it was paint or paint thinner, ugh. The taste was interesting, not super hoppy but easily a double red or imperial red, malty, decent. Overall though the smell killed it and made this really unpleasant, I was glad I only had a small snifter of it.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. A very god amber ale. Sweet with fresh hops, so full of hop flavor I am thinking this might be a wet hopped beer. Some brown sugar and sweet malt for balance. Full-flavored. A good beer.

On tap at brewpub. Listed as a "double red". Caramel and toffee flavors with mild citrus hop flavors. Good level of bitterness, mouth puckering. Enjoyable.

Draft at the source. Red-brown in color. Mostly toasted malt and caramel in the nose with mild generic hopping. Flavor follow suit with more of the toasted and caramel malt and mild to moderate hop bitterness. Not really getting the imperial red, but rather a solid amber.

Tap at Wynkoop. Clear amber with a thin white head, very hoppy aroma of fresh pine and grapefruit with a huge caramel backbone. Taste is the same; lots of grapefruit and pine hoppiness with a lot of semi-boozy caramel sweetness and a dry earthy toffee finish. Not shabby, but there’s just a tad too much bitterness.
