On tap @ Wynkoop. Copper pour with a white head. Citric hops, passion fruit, and pineapple. Really crazy fruit aromas. Nice toffee notes, too. Flavor is tart tropical fruit. Passion fruit, pineapple, and mango. Some grapefruit, sweet caramel, and toffee. Very nice.

On tap at Colorado Plus poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthjiness, citrus and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness and light earthiness with a smooth dry lightly bitter lingering fruity finish.

Can. Head is initially average sized, creamy/frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with a note of butter/diacetyl. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Kinda clunky and simple, basically a resin bomb (although not very aromatically strong in general) with some raw doughy yeast.

Can - amber ale? - why isn’t this listed as an american strong ale? - anyway, pours a moderately hazy dark red - frothy, well-sustained head - nose is mostly a potent mix of hops - resinous, citric, piney, fruity, peppery - some sticky malt sweetness underneath - more pleasant than I am making it sound - soft carbonation, full body - simple flavor - mostly just sticky caramel maltiness, followed by potent peppery and woody hops with a light bit of alcohol in the finish - it does what it sets out to do, I guess - okay.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. A very god amber ale. Sweet with fresh hops, so full of hop flavor I am thinking this might be a wet hopped beer. Some brown sugar and sweet malt for balance. Full-flavored. A good beer.

Tap at Wynkoop. Clear amber with a thin white head, very hoppy aroma of fresh pine and grapefruit with a huge caramel backbone. Taste is the same; lots of grapefruit and pine hoppiness with a lot of semi-boozy caramel sweetness and a dry earthy toffee finish. Not shabby, but there’s just a tad too much bitterness.

Tap at the brewpub. The look a light white head, reddish in color. The smell is fruit, malt, toffee, grassy, hops, and ok. The taste is toffee, malt, fruit, hops, and ok.
