Our flagship ale , the RailYard Ale is Oktoberfest style made with our house ale yeast. It’s deep amber-red in color and well-balanced between malt and hops. RailYard Ale is bittered with Hallertauer hops and finished with Tettnang hops.

Backlog entry: Flight at the brewery in Denver. Decent beers, all average. Most on the lighter side but aligned with the style.

Draft at Wynkoop. Poured a clear, amber golden orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, light grassy and some light herbal hop notes. Flavor was about the same. Sweet malts, crisp notes. Okay.

Bottle split at LKS, thanks to Bropey for this BB ’98 vintage. Lightly hazed amber with a beige covering. Nose is brown bread, nutty, dark fruit, light oxidisation. Taste comprises biscuit, toffee, brown sugar, wooded notes. Medium bodied, surprisingly spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for age.

Bottle share at Leighton’s, thanks to Paul. As ’Broadway Wynkoop RailYard Ale’, 5.5% BB Feb 1998. Hazy dark orange or mahogany, sparkling, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is brown sauce, balsamic on bread. Body is light, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is balsamic, raisins, watery. Interesting, and just about drinkable. Only just though.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Best before 1998. Pours clear gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has some toasted grain, leaves, mild oxidation. Medium sweet flavor with mild caramel, wood, orange, bread. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet, bready, with some definite oxidation, more caramel, mellow citrus fruits. OK.

Bottle bbf Feb 1998!!! It pours hazy amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is toasty, brown bread, light caramel, light oxidised, twig and earth. The taste is toasty, grainy, brown bread, nut, twig, earth, toffee, light oxidisation, umami and a touch of dust with a dry finish. Medium body and decent, lively carbonation. Has held up pretty well considering. A pretty boring amber, but good for its age.

Cloudy light red pour no head kind of flat. Decent malts in flavor but I thanked the lack if carbonation hurt this brew.
