Draft at Wynkoop. Poured a clear, amber golden orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, light grassy and some light herbal hop notes. Flavor was about the same. Sweet malts, crisp notes. Okay.

Bottle share at Leighton’s, thanks to Paul. As ’Broadway Wynkoop RailYard Ale’, 5.5% BB Feb 1998. Hazy dark orange or mahogany, sparkling, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is brown sauce, balsamic on bread. Body is light, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is balsamic, raisins, watery. Interesting, and just about drinkable. Only just though.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle bbf Feb 1998!!! It pours hazy amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is toasty, brown bread, light caramel, light oxidised, twig and earth. The taste is toasty, grainy, brown bread, nut, twig, earth, toffee, light oxidisation, umami and a touch of dust with a dry finish. Medium body and decent, lively carbonation. Has held up pretty well considering. A pretty boring amber, but good for its age.

Cloudy light red pour no head kind of flat. Decent malts in flavor but I thanked the lack if carbonation hurt this brew.

A- Beautiful reddish-amber a thinner, short lived head
S- Rich, toasty, nutty bread with hints of carmel and malty sweetness.
T- Toasted nutbread, grain, and a malty sweetness that is balanced with a subdued maltiness for balance
M/F- medium light bodied and exceptionally smooth with just enough dryness in the finish to add quick finish to the maltiness.
