Dark brown in color thin tan head. Nice stout aroma and flavor. Intresting beer has a light slickness like a Oyster stout. Sure it is a gimmick but I loved it.

December 22nd, 2012 - Wynkoopís Oyster stout is something like a Denverís restaurantís offering Rocky Mountain Oysters. Itís the daring item on the menu, but a cursory reading of the beer literature suggests that the oyster stout wasnít so rare or so exotic back in darker, smoggier, more Continental days. So, I chose to perceive this less as an XTREME LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST DRINK and more as a foray into history. Except that this actually does have bull testicles in it. So, on with the show. The aroma shows no hint of uh...meat or otherwise, instead putting off a standard smell of soy sauce and teriyaki, while the palate is deep and smoky, made more so by a thin palate. Thereís a little meat here, too, with mild jerky savoriness and spice, and a smoked almond flavor. Hard to believe thereís cow bits and pieces in here, but they donít take much away from the beer. This is has a nice flavor profile of its own, with or without testicular gimmicks.

Tasted this at GABF 2013 but did not review it. I think I must have blocked it from memory, but it came up in conversation today. I remember my first impression: a good stout with a strong essence of bologna. I can honestly say I tasted it, but 1 oz is all I needed ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pour is opaque dark brown with a beige bubbly head. Nose is clean roast, chocolate, molasses, and a hint of nuttiness (no seriously). Taste is very big, strong roasted barley and lots of rich chocolate fudge, again there is a roasted almond flavor towards the back of the palate and a hint of sweetness. Relatively thick viscous body but falls off a touch in the finish. The roast lingers. I was terrified but actually pretty decent.

Received in a trade. This poured a very inviting black with a dark tan that soon dropped down a few shades. An aroma that had roasted notes and some chocolate. That was the flavor, too. Fortunately no testicles were tasted! Well, testicles or not this was pretty decent.
