Draft. An unclear dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with noteso fwine, wood, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, coconut, and malt. The mouthfeel is thick and the alcohol burns in the throat and warms the cheeks.

(Draught) Pours a deep red body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, raisins, and bread. Flavor of cherry, raisins, dates, caramel, earth, and grass with an alcohol burn in the finish.

on tap-pours a tan head with hazy copper color. Aroma is soft sweet medium malt, medium fruit. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, sweet medium/dark fruit-plum, then herbal hop bite & alcohol come to front.

On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear dark garnet with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of dark fruit, brown sugar and toffee. Palate was medium bodied and slightly syrupy. Flavors of molasses, toffee and fruitiness with a warming lingering sweet finish.

8th Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines. Pours clear brown with an average, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), average hops (perfume, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of apple and pear. Full bodied, creamy and alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a murky bronze hue with a rather minimal off-white head. Decent lace though. Aromas are exaggerated dark fruits, raisins, fig, fig newton, dates, caramel, vinous, red currant. Dark fruit esters every where. Flavors are quite sweet and quite boozy. A good amount of bitterness but no real balance. Tons of dark fruits, medium to low bubbles. Thick. Alcohol is somewhat obvious.

Growler thanks to shp555: Pours a transparent copper amber amber with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy grapefruity hops and rich caramely malt with a fresh light fruity character. Starts fairly full and caramely sweet with a toasty malty and dark caramel sweetness with a lot of light fruity complexity before and alightly drier finish. A pretty nice barleywine.

Tap @ Wynkoop. Pours a dark maroon body with a creamy tan head. Quite sweet and sugary, winelike and hoppy nose. Pretty powerful sweet, fairly well hopped body that’s pretty enjoyable. Alcohol and a bit of a burn in the finish. Oak aged and that flavor really comes out nicely without being overpowering. Pretty well done.

Dark brow, thin ring of foam. Smells like caramel, vanilla and bourbon, with some alcohol heat. Flavor is bourbon, toffee, and more vanilla. Maybe a bit of alcohol heat in the finish.
