Bottle, pours a dark amber with a thin head. A gentle malt aroma. An easy malt flavour as well, with a light sweetness. Very smooth.

It poured with a full, off white head and pleasing copper colour. I picked up burnt toast in the aroma and a hint of liquorice in the flavour. After a bit I got the butter taste too. I t was nearly (but not quite) bitter enough. I enjoyed this more than some people, but, no, it wasn’t a classic and I don’t think I’d buy it again.

Bottle. Light chestnut in coour with small head. Aroma of malts and toffee. Taste is also malts and toffee but well balanced in regards to bitterness and sweetness. There are some hops there. Very uninteresting but easy to drink. Better than I remember last time I had this 4 or 5 years ago.

Jan 2013 - room temp bottle. Very low alcohol content - only 3.6. Body is light to mid. Taste is slightly watery, starts quite malty and with a very mild toffee/caramel flavour. I like that kind of flavour, but it’s very mild and is a lot stronger in other beers. I was expecting this beer to be below average, but it was average and so I’ve no complaints. Drinkable enough.

Very dark Amber in colour but more like a sweetened old ale in character. Sweet aroma with some fruitiness. No head.

500ml bottle - An indifferent sort of beer. Nothing offensive. Some light toffee, and a thin smearing of hops. Pleasant enough, but largely lifeless and lacking in character.

500ml bottle. Aroma of peaches and toast. Colour copper. Head small. Taste spicy, well-rounded maltiness with plummy sweetness. Hops come through in the finish, which is long and bitter. A truly great bitter, possibly the best bitter I've tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It was the name of course ..... bit of a bog standard bitter for me this one. Not too heavy, some sweetish bitterness, nicely rounded, clean finish.
