COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
NOTE! In the US this beer is marketed as Xbeeriment #44. The reason for this is that any references to President Obama would only be permitted by US authorities if we had a written permission from the White House. So the dressing’s changed, but the beer stays the same!

Also please NOTE that the first US edition of "Xbeeriment #44" is erroneously labelled 10.4% ABV.

English: Brewed to celebrate Barack Obama’s inaugural as the 44th President of the United States, and the first black person to hold the office. A potent stout with a fair amount of peated malt in the grain bill. This adds a smoky character to the beer which obviously also has roasted aromas from the dark malts and roasted barley as well as loads of citrusy hop notes from the US hop varieties. NOTE: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. From the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

On tap. Pours black with small beige head; roasted malty, freshly hopped aroma with strong coffee notes and hints of chocolate; flavor is quite hard roasty, bitter and sweet at the same time, including notes of coffee, licorice and chocolate, aftertaste also has a touch of pine; medium body, quite smooth. Obama should me careful not to spoil the name of this brew.

Nice enough stout. Not up there with Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, but nice enough. Purchased on tap at Ørsted Ølbar. Rating fuzzy after drink, but numbers apply.

Fin øl men i mindre doser.

Half liter bottle. Dark brown with a thick, craggy head. Nose is coffee, black tea, tobacco, hay and faint molasses. Medium body but kind of sudsy; mild carb. Taste is chocolate covered malted milk balls and orange peel. Bitter grassy finish with coffee grounds.

From draught at The Bishops Arms, Järntorget. Black in colour, pale brown head. Malty, butterscotchy aroma with frozen strawberries and cooked corn. Butterscotchy, fruity, malty flavour, slight toasty and peppery with bitter finish. The finish is bitter, earthy hops. Kind of green to the character, due to the hops I presume.
