COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
NOTE! In the US this beer is marketed as Xbeeriment #44. The reason for this is that any references to President Obama would only be permitted by US authorities if we had a written permission from the White House. So the dressing’s changed, but the beer stays the same!

Also please NOTE that the first US edition of "Xbeeriment #44" is erroneously labelled 10.4% ABV.

English: Brewed to celebrate Barack Obama’s inaugural as the 44th President of the United States, and the first black person to hold the office. A potent stout with a fair amount of peated malt in the grain bill. This adds a smoky character to the beer which obviously also has roasted aromas from the dark malts and roasted barley as well as loads of citrusy hop notes from the US hop varieties. NOTE: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. From the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

Bottle - Deep black body with a dark brown edge, very creamy lasting mocca head; Excellent very well put together aroma, the more you put it to your nose the more refined and deeper it gets, it has everything: the creamy soft chocolate without being the least vulgar, the roasted malty fruitiness without being neither dry or floral, the piney resin without being to sharp, extremely nice; The body is very interesting but no at the same level as the nose and maybe a little more interesting then really good, there is some thing invisible about it either it is the texture being extremely soft at the same time as being a little watery, maybe it is the fine combination of balanced sweetness and dry roastedness; It finishes very long and grows in bitterness to something that last very and quite dry, at another level you have a cream like soft sweetness almost like condensed milk, it makes again a very interesting combination, this with a very light roasted bitterness makes again a very very interesting combination. Very very interesting and very good beer!

(Bottled) Very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of licorice, roasty-ashy maltiness, hints of alcohol. Flavor of roasted, slightly burned maltiness, faint licorice. Medium body, soft carbonation, balanced. Somewhat too burned for me, but not bad by any means.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Close to black colouir, bige beaige creamy/foamy head. Aroma is fruity hops, espresso, roasted malts, some eat and mild yeastyness. Flavour is cooffee, caramel malts, some yeast and smoke/peat in mild doses. The peat and smoke come through in the aftertaste. A quite pleasant thing.

To celebrate the most important election in the last century - sa appropiate, and thumps up for the idea. Poured in a tulip-glass. Dark brown almost black with a cffé Latte-look head. The nose is strongly dominated of rasted coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Some hops and burned malts and brown sugar and a little hint of smoke. (Cant help like feeling there is some aroma-notes of an old cheese of some kind...cant find the name...and for the record - i like cheese) The taste is bitter with notes of coffee and dark chocolate and malts. The body is creamy leaving a nce palate. The finish is long and bitter... I dont really feel that the taste backs the aroma all the way - but anyhow - its a good beer. VIVA OBAMA

Draught at KØ09. Cloudy black colour. Very small light brown head. Slightly rough bitterness. Faint hint of coffee. Too much malt bitterness for me.

Pour quite dark with a light brown head. A sweet smell of chocolate and licorice. A nice flavor of cocoa and it ends with a punch. Enjoyable.

Thanks to Kris for the sweet in-person trade. Deep dark black beer with a thick beige head. Very sticky and chewy with a lovely nose. Lots of soft chewy cocoa with a bit of black licorice as well. Toasted chocolate and a bit of dry cocoa as well. At it warms the cocoa and chocolate really picks up. Lots of big herbal/earthy hoppy flavour. Long lingering bitterness. Really solid brew.
