COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
NOTE! In the US this beer is marketed as Xbeeriment #44. The reason for this is that any references to President Obama would only be permitted by US authorities if we had a written permission from the White House. So the dressing’s changed, but the beer stays the same!

Also please NOTE that the first US edition of "Xbeeriment #44" is erroneously labelled 10.4% ABV.

English: Brewed to celebrate Barack Obama’s inaugural as the 44th President of the United States, and the first black person to hold the office. A potent stout with a fair amount of peated malt in the grain bill. This adds a smoky character to the beer which obviously also has roasted aromas from the dark malts and roasted barley as well as loads of citrusy hop notes from the US hop varieties. NOTE: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. From the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

Pours a luscious opaque sable with a fairly thick light tan head that leaves some decent lacing. Rich aroma is smoky with strong tones of molasses, fine coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor fills the mouth with smoked wood, semi-sweet chocolate, molasses and quality roast coffee with hints of caramel and toffee. Texture is thick, fizzy and oily, leaving a subtle tingle and a nice mocha finish. If you like stouts, this is worth a hunt.

Had at the Porter on a very snowy day-perfect. Pours dark brown/black with light brown head. Strong aroma of expresso with a little cedar. Full bodied creamy chocolatey palate has more expresso and smokey flavors. Excellent.

Aroma is roasty, chocolate malts, a subtle smokiness and a very floral hop profile. Pours jet black with a nice off-white head. Taste is upfront with an intense roasted/smoky character. Smoke plays really well with this. Finishes really hoppy...very nice surprise. This beer combines a lot of my favorite things....will purchase again.

Pours a dark chocolate brown with thin frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, smoked jerky and cocoa. Flavor is toasted cocoa nibs, nuts, and earthy peat and a hint of bitter citrus hops. Body is light yet creamy with mild carbonation.

The aroma has chocolate, coffee and some sweeter toffee notes. it pours a dark black color with full head. The taste has some light to medium sweetness and then some good bitterness as it opens up on your palate with some full rich chocolate flavors, some nice roasted coffee and light smokey peat. The body is full and creamy. Overall this is awesome, I like that the peat isn’t overpowering but still integral to the flavor.

Pitch black. The look of this is awesome. Like going into a dark mystery. Aroma of dark coffe. Taste of coffe with bitterness. Tiny watery at the end, but overall a great beer.
