Tap at CBC. Near black pour with larger mocha foam. Nose is big time acetaldehyde, old red apple, heavy spoiled cider. Oh man. Heavy oxidation. Taste is apple, spices, ash, paper. Undrinkable.

Black. Big tan head and plenty of lacing. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Taste is the same with a more dry chocolate presence. Not much in the way of bourbon, but it comes through with hints of vanilla. Nice.

pitch dark, smooth brown head. Mild roasted boozy aroma, flavor is licorice, roasted malts, mint, pretty strange, but tasty.

Bottle @ RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at Dean Swift. Black beer with lasting dark beige head. Not too heavy on the bourbon but still dominates the beeer, Itís an impy stout with bourbon. Too hot, too all over the place.

Bottle. Opaque, black liquid with tan head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, coffee, chocolate. Really balanced. Light sweet taste with medium bitterness and lots of coffee and bourbon. Really good, thick body. Great, balanced beer. Canít believe itís not rated higher.

Bottle, shared by Meilby. Some reddish notes, else itís a dark brown beer topped by a dense, light tan head. Some alcohol on the nose, with roasted malts, a sort of pleasant boozy touch, some coffee, dark chocolate and some vanilla. A touch of vanilla and booze on the palate, full-bodied and warming, with roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate and alcohol. Lasting finish with roasted malts, some booze and a nice bitterness. Certainly a really nice one, would certainly like to repeat this one. 120224
