COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. Starting from the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

English: Our basic idea with this beer originated while making Xbeeriment Barack. When we’d done that we thought "What if we took it further?" So we decided to go for it and create an Imperial Stout made with 5 different kinds of malt including substantial amounts of peat smoked malt, roasted barley and 3 different hop varieties. We then added a 4th variety for dry hopping. Finally it was bottled unfiltered, bottle conditioned and left to mature in the bottle for 2 months before release. Serve at 12-14 degrees Celcius (53-57 degrees Fahrenheit).

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a medium sized tan head. Leaving a good lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and smoke. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. Full bodied, oily text and soft CO2. An excellent imp. stout.★★★★

On tap at Fermentoren. Pours black with a medium sized tan head. Sweet taste of dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and fruits. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with a long bitter aftertaste of malt, chocolate and vanilla. Feels nicely complex. Overall it works better than the barrel aged XO version. Super good beer.

500 mL bottle. Looks about right, although there is not much head. The aroma is relatively subtle, yet complex, with chocolate covered cherries, roasted coffee grounds, burnt caramel, and chocolate milk. The flavour is not as complex, but still good. Bitterness from the roasted in the finish.

a solid stout, aided by smoked peat .. . this bottle was about 1 year aged, just didn’t know when to pull it out (unlike my wang) .. . pours a deep black .. average coco headring .. . deep tar, oil, and mild chimney scrapings .. . pretty damn smooth, the abv is done well too .. an awesome beer, would have liked a whole lot more smoke though .. . . . i like the yam biscuits!

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, biscuit, coffee, chocolate, bread, biscuit and fresh hops. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of toffee, coffee and bread. Medium to full bodied with low carbonation. Quite nice stuff.

500 mL bottle at Churchkey in Washington DC, served in a snifter. Pours black with a minimal tan head that fades to a small amount of bubbles without a proper head. The nose has big notes of peat, smoke, roasted malts, molasses and piney hops. The flavour is somewhat sweet with roasty malts, molasses and subtle smoke. This is balanced with piney-citric hops that build towards a long, hoppy-roasty finish. On the palate, it is full in body with a smooth, syrupy slightly dry texture and minimal carbonation. Overall, this is a nice imperial stout with peat and prominent hops. 2012-06-09
