COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. Starting from the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

English: Our basic idea with this beer originated while making Xbeeriment Barack. When we’d done that we thought "What if we took it further?" So we decided to go for it and create an Imperial Stout made with 5 different kinds of malt including substantial amounts of peat smoked malt, roasted barley and 3 different hop varieties. We then added a 4th variety for dry hopping. Finally it was bottled unfiltered, bottle conditioned and left to mature in the bottle for 2 months before release. Serve at 12-14 degrees Celcius (53-57 degrees Fahrenheit).

Bomber to giant snifter. Scored in a trade and drinking during the inauguration ceremony. Pours dark black but not thick. Substantial head that dissipates and leaves a nice mocha ring around the edge. I’m not a fan of smoked beers, but this one is quite subtle on the smokiness, so if you love smokey you may not like it. Just tastes like a really good Imperial with a hint of smoke and some hop presence.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Light airy palate. Well hopped Imperial Stout! Muscular dark malt with medium roast. Bitter pine hops. The finish brings together the hops and the roast malt for big bitterness. Decent but would have liked something less harsh.

Countbeer (2920) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2012
Bottle: Medium to bigger sized, creamy ash tan head on top of a black colored beer. Smell is a lovely mix of chocolate, roasted malts, hops, citrus, grapefruit, roast. kind of BIPA ish. Great mix of roast and hops! Taste is also a lovely mix of roast with hop bitters: roasted barley malts, hops, citrus, bitter, chalk, hint of chocolate, chocolate bitters, grapefruit, grapefruit bitters, floral bitterness and a hint of bitter plants. Damn tasty! Aftertaste is bitter, roast, floral, hops grass. Pretty fresh hoppy for an Imperial Stout. Low carbo, soft (close to silky) mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture. Quite a hoppy beer! Nice! Dangerously easy drinkable!

A - Pours a very dark black color with a finger of frothy chocolate colored head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of chocolate malts, smoke, coffee, molasses, black licorice, and vanilla with a touch of dark fruit and booze. T - Starts off with some chocolate malts with some molasses, dark fruit, vanilla, and black licorice. Through the middle, some coffee comes through with some good smoke flavor. The finish is a mix of chocolate malts, with smoke, dark fruit, molasses, black licorice, and a bit of booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a smokey, sweet, and warming finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice big smoked stout. Good balance of flavors with some nice smoke character.
