COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: From 2009 - 2012 this beer was brewed at Amager Bryghus. Starting from the summer of 2012 it will be brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

English: Our basic idea with this beer originated while making Xbeeriment Barack. When we’d done that we thought "What if we took it further?" So we decided to go for it and create an Imperial Stout made with 5 different kinds of malt including substantial amounts of peat smoked malt, roasted barley and 3 different hop varieties. We then added a 4th variety for dry hopping. Finally it was bottled unfiltered, bottle conditioned and left to mature in the bottle for 2 months before release. Serve at 12-14 degrees Celcius (53-57 degrees Fahrenheit).

9oz pour at Paradiso Dupont. Pours a murky black with some soft, spitty white head. Nose has a ton of roasted malt, some caramel, a little smoke, industrial rubber, pencil lead. Flavor has some soy, some caramel, a little toasted bread, some mold coffee grounds, but I find it to be overwhelmingly burnt. Not smoke, although there is a hint of smoke, but almost like caramel or candy or treacle was poured into the kettle and it burnt on the bottom. Sticky finish.

Black pour with khaki head that sticks around for a long time. Peat smoke and espresso dominate the nose with a sprucy hop note and some dark chocolate underneath. More complex on the palate with some dark fruit shining through and a nice toffee note. I’d like it to be significantly smokier than it is on the palate. There’s a certain coffee bitterness in the finish.

500ml Bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Pitch black with medium sized brown creamy head.
Aroma : Roasted malt with piny hops. Some coffee and some chocolate. Some smoke as well.
Taste : Roasted malt with light roasted almonds or something. Light smoke with piny hops. Coffee on finish with piny hops and light lingering smoke. Good balance between malt and bitter hops on the finish.
Palate : Nice carbonation strength. Full bodied but not too sweet. Nice persistent finish.
Overall : Pretty nice beer. Quite complex and well balanced. Pretty drinkable. Great stuff.

500ml bottle poured into a snifter. Appearance is clear brownish black with a medium sized creamy mocha head, that when reduced left a thin lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, syrup loaf and a hint of smoke and muscovado. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Not as smoky as the label suggests, and a bit too thin bodied especially considering the high ABV. Overall this is a tasty Imperial Stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a large, thick, dark latte-colored head. Aroma is quite roasty, dark fruit, light earthiness, pine and exotic fruit a tad, some smoke. Some liquorice, a tad salty. Taste is quite a lot of roast, some chocolate, a bit sweet, somewhat sour, quite a bit of smoke too. Roast is strong. Some pine and exotic fruit from the hops. Really delicious and alcohol is completely hidden. Full and well carbonated. One of the better imperial stouts definitely.
