Clear copper pour with a small white head. Aroma was sweet plums, cherry, caramel and a light hop presence. Flavors were slightly sweet and full of caramel and dark fruits. Nice velvety mouthfeel, full, light carbonation. This is a great example of barley wine. Standard in every way but executed to perfection. Dug it.

Sampled at DLD 2013, thanks hayduke. It poured a clear dark amber color with a tan head. The aroma was of dates, plums, apple esters with earthy and spicy hops. The taste was malt dominant with medium fruity esters, medium hops, some bitterness, sweet malt and a sweet finish. Very nice.

500ml bottle. Murky burgundy-brown body. Foamy beige head laces the glass. Piny, alcohol laced aroma. A pretty solid Barleywine, rich and syrupy, but also relatively balanced. Some underlying fruity tones. Classic flavors, maybe leaning a little into US stylistic tendencies with the significant hops...which come off a touch muted/aged...floaties help to confirm that this wasn’t brewed last month...but has aged relatively gracefully. Pretty solid offering, but nothing above and beyond, which the price sort of insinuates.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy copper / amber with almost no head. Aroma of dried fruits (raisins in particular) and toffee – quite sweet. Flavour brings out exceedingly sweet caramel / toffee, dried fruits and no hops at all – lots of residual sugar. Not very refined and quite cloyingly sweet. Drinkable in small portions.
