COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaboration between Xbeeriment and Mikkeller. A BIG Imperial Stout with lots of dark, roasted notes, lots of US hops but fermented with a Belgian yeast from one of the trappist breweries. Brewed to be able to evolve over several years.

Marsiblursi (2325) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2011
(Bottle) Pours near black with a small light brown head. The aroma holds dusty roast, dusty grovel, cold coffee, salt liquorice, mild tar, surprisingly “green” hoppy for a 3 year old beer (grass, resinous pine, wood and soft grapefruit), currant candy, subtle fruits and light phenolic spicy. The flavor is light sweet to dry, medium bitter and tiny acidic. Tones of coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, soft hops, liquorice, minerals, light spices and gravel. The mouthfeel is dusty, clean and light oily with light carbonation (small bubbles). Hoppy and medium roasted finish. Medium bodied.

25 cl bottle. Black brown with beige froth and a haze. Nose is chocolate, caramel, hay, raisin and mild tobacco. Medium body with a tang. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, espresso, licorice, burnt sugar and grapefruit peel. Reminds me of Storm King.

Bottle thanks to the Wolf. Pours jet black with very rocky tan coloured head. Falls away very quickly leaving no lacing. Aromas are not huge but there is definately some dark fruits, burnt toffee roasted grain and alcohol. Flavours are domiated by burnt grain bitterness and a fair whack of alcohol. Some sourness on the finish, Medium mouthfeel. OK.

03/10 0.25 l bottle, courtesy of Marko, huge thanks for sharing! It poured dark brown, almost black body with small head. Very nice roasted malt aroma, chocolate and fine coffee mostly. Slightly sour and bitter coffee flavor, enriched with some dried fruits. Quite simple, but pleasant, tasty and full bodied with long coffee bitter finish and only a little bit warming. Nice xbeeriment indeed.
