COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: The Xbeeriment version of a Quadrupel. The aim has been to create a quad with complexity and depth but in a drier and less heavy style than quads normally are. Made of German malt, Belgian yeast and candy sugar, English hops, Danish Sugar and finally a bit of French raspberry syrup to add cool, fruity and fresh notes to the brew. OG 1092 FG 1008.

A slight honey taste at first, but as a little old flavor. Smells too old. Was drunk before BB date.

Bottled. Pours out in a cloudy reddish brown colour with a small bubbly off-white head. Rich, deep and well-rounded aroma of cherry-skins, toasted malts, milky chocolate, almonds, black currant and mild honey. Full-bodied with notes of honey, black currant, toasted malts, mild spices and brown sugar. Long rounded and warming aftertaste of milky chocolate, dried cherries and burnt sugar. Tasty!

Pours a deep coppery body dressed in floaties and crowned with an off-white medium head. Smell is caramel, syrup and complex candy sugary notes. Taste has a sweetness profile strangely reminding me of my childhood’s "bruspulver" (soda pop fizzy powder), just without the whole chemical thing. Cherries, candy sugar and malt extract also appear throughout the palate. Regardless, this quad turns out to be not quite as complex and exiting as the Belgian "royal beers" it seeks to emulate. Ok, but not great.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a cloudy amber with beige head. Aroma of fruit, nice citrus, light caramel and a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is very much the same with an added sweetness and spice. Mouth feel is medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, pretty tasty brew!
