Xingu is a line of exotic beers dedicated to bring awareness to the Amazon Rainforest. Xingu Gold is brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Cascade and Summit hops, distinctively floral and drinkable.

Note: Not to be confused by the FEMSA-brewed Xingu Gold for the Brazilan market.

Xingu Gold has a thick, stark-white head, a mostly clear, bubbly, straw appearance, and a good amount of lacing left on the sides of the glass. The aroma is of sweet barley malt and a touch of grassy hops. Taste is of sweet, white bread, clean malt, grassy hop oils, and mellow, mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Xingu Gold finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and delicious. RJT

Half litre bottle. A: Pale golden, clear, small head which didn’t hang around long, not much lacing. S: Fantastic pronounced cascade hop aroma, citrus and mango. T: Very fruity, mainly mango but notes of various citrus fruits, slightly bitter finish, well balanced. M: Light body, crisp, decent carbonation gives it a prickly feel. O: Very light, perfect for a summer’s day. Listed as a Czech pilsener but to me it was an English Pale Ale or possibly an "IPL"

500 ml bottle into lager glass; C083 BT1 bottle code. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, white grape, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light earthy yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, white grape, orange zest, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Slight floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, white grape, lemon zest, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and solid robustness of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light yeast ester flavors; with a very clean flavor profile and no cloying after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this a nice and pleasant Czech pilsener style. Good balance and solid robustness of citrus/floral hops, pale malt, and light yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Dandelion and pencil shavings aroma, surprisingly strong and pleasant. Clear golden, thin head. Strong dandelion flavor, subtle honey, grass finish. Light body, easy carbonation. Great intensity, but sessionable. Drinks like a well hopped English golden ale. Excellent!

Aroma is pale lager bready malts and mild but definitely there grassy hops. The flavor is bread, pilsner qualities, pale malts, very slight heat and a citrus/grassy hop finish.

0,5 l bottle, Pours Golden to pale yellow clear body with nice white dense lacing head. Aroma is berries, plums, pineapple, grass, juniper and some malts. Vague orange fruit hops aroma. Palate is medium full-bodied, lively, carbonation is fizzy and mouthful, crispy. Taste is mild, malty with medium hoppy end. Finish is floral, little bleak, and no real bitterness noticeable. However Cascade flavors reminds it a little of pale ale, and there is a subtle lingering from these hops genera. Although it has clear lager crispiness, the hops varieties used, make this an interesting mix of ale and Pils, or just a weak pale ale with papery notes, depending on your point of view. Overall drinkable and quaffable.

Xingo Gold boasts a higher hop load than many lagers of this type. I respect that. This brew has a fresh feel and a crisp finish thanks to the clean hops. Xingo Gold only has one real problem but it’s a major one in my opinion. The malt is unrefined. Toward the middle of the mouth, it becomes slightly musty. Otherwise, I have no gripe with this lager. Just be sure to drink it cold. Big hop profile or not, this lager’s body isn’t complex enough to perform well at a warmer temperature.

Bottle at Fogo de Chao in Indianapolis. Pours a really pretty gold with a high white head. Nose is floral with a definite hops overtone. Very clean and fresh on the tongue, with definite hops bitterness in the midpalate; just a fresh, crisp, and substantial beer without being heavy. Finish is long and a touch sweet. Quite good.

Pours clear golden yellow with a large white head. The aroma has some fruitiness, grapes, light tropical fruit and pale smooth lager malt. Quite nice aroma. It has a fairly light smooth body with a good amount of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth malt with some spice and weird fruitiness, spice and odd butterscotch. The finish has an old-ish lager taste, but this just hit the shelves today. Fair.

bottle @ Beer Run / Charlottesville VA --- Clear light amber color, two-finger head that is full of bubbles; big blotches of lace. Aroma of malt and grass. Taste is clean malt with hay that adds mild floral hops on the swallow. Pretty simple, but also refreshing and thirst quenching. A solid selection for sessions. Recommended.
