3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer, the labeling and such, smacks of a contrived beer made for the non-Brazilian market. Aroma is dry, almost smoked roasted malt. Opaque body with light brown head; excellent lace. Flavor is sweet, which is unexpected from the dry nose. Hints of milk chocolate and caramel. Flavorful, although a little too sweet for my palate. Speaking of palate, it has a nice overall mouthfeel, is easy to drink and has a moderate bite at the finish. Overall, just a little too sweet for my tastes and probably too sweet for the Schwarzbier style, but of reasonable quality. Thanks to Slikwily for sending this on; my first rated Brazilian beer!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a dark amber black color with a small bubbly head that quickly fizzled away. Sweet malty aroma, slight hint of nuts as well in the aroma. Some cardboard as well? Sweet chocolate, caramel, mocha, toffee? taste. Sweet and chewy, with a carbonated prickliness on the tongue.

Not sure what to expect from a schwarzbier. Plenty of malt but it seemed undeveloped. It is, indeed, sweet, but no flavors absolutely stand out. I didn't find any anise flavor, thank God. A little nutty. Somewhat thin. Clean swallow. Interesting.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured used motor oil black with a moderate brown head - I gotta love the appearance of this Brazilian beauty. Aroma is sultry, sweet and nutty with hints of molasses. Flavor is sweet with a surprising amount of hop bitterness and some vinegar in the finish. Medium body with creamy carbonation. A nice surprise of a beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This beer truley is black. It is very a very unique beer in the fact that it is full-bodied, but it goes down extremly smooth. I drink this beer whenever i can get it.

Indra with the hook up on the Xingu, Thank You again for the fantastic trade we put together!
A bizarre and secular brew, A lovely and exotic beer to mach its countries exquisite Brazilian females. Pours as the label states, a "Black Beer," decent toffee colored head leaves behind a substantial ring of lacing. The aroma and flavor are a bit like cider, light notes of vinegar, apple juice, toffee, cranberries, with mentions of chocolate malts. Finish is dry and bitter, very unique and exciting beer, again I find suggestions of cider. Recommended!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours as dark as a starless, moonless night. Even when held up to a 150 watt bulb, very little color is revealed. Finally, the sparkling clear, ruby hue is revealed. Large, light brown head. Mostly lasting with weepy lacing.
Smells a bit like a chocolate cola. Sweet, pungent and spicy with coppery notes. The flavor matches the aroma. Lightly sweet and chocolatey with hints of cola and spice.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, dry, lightly bitter finish.
I really like this beer, but it is definitely a strange brew!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great, near black appearance with a small head. Some nuttiness but otherwise not much depth in the aroma. Toasted malt taste with little noticable hops in the medium-bodied flavor. Smooth, but not trenchant taste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pretty good beer. Black? No not really, but a nice dark brown color with a lighter brown head on top. Malty, carmel, coffee aroma. Again malty in the taste, and a nice finish. I could get used to this at 1.99 for a 22.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Beer pours (in Chimay glass) a dark brown/black light can penetrate (so much for being "black") with nearly no head that dissipates quickly to near nothing. Aroma is a mixture of candy corn and cola syrup with a faint, barely noticable skunk. Flavor is a lightly sweet and syrup with noticably sickening tones - like a poison that tastes sweet. Am I drinking windshield washing fluid or beer? This one lets you know that you are drinking poison (alcohol). Sampled at 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
