COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

Very dark brown with a red glow when held up to the light. Virtually no head whatsoever. Slight aroma of toast, maybe some chocolate, but not very complex. Taste is sweet malts with perhaps a touch of coffee bitterness. Mouthfeel, creamy and smooth, is probably its best quality. Overall, this is a good beer. Simple, sure, but very drinkable, and at 4.6%, you could go with this all night.

12 oz bottle, pours black with very little khaki head. Slight metallic taste. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Hint of coffee in the finish, but not as much as I had anticipated. A solid brew, good for those venturing into dark beers as this one doesn’t pack too much punch. Unremarkable, but pleasant.

Bottle. Nose is espresso, black tea, fennel, and savory. Pours a dark brown with reddish highlights and a fine-grained, cappuccino head. Flavor is very light for the style; has more notes of tea and red wine. Very dry. Mouthfeel is velvety. Good.

Almost totally black in colour with a light brown head that has decent lacing. Has a roasted, lightly malty aroma. Taste is mildy sweet with a medium bitter finish. Generally a smooth, easy drinking dark beer. Feels pretty soft in the mouth with little carbonation. Overall not too bad, nothing to rave about.

Dark and sweet, excellent change after american lagers. Scent was very strong.

Bottle. Deep black appearance with light head that completely disappears. Light sweet dark malty aroma. Light body with a dark sweet malty flavor. A bit sour with some hints of dark berries on the finish.

Poured very dark with an average head. Like most Latin American dark beers, this is very sweet. It has some toasted malt flavor and I have to admit I like it, especially mixed with a flavorless LA beer.

Bottle that was kicking around in my cellar for probably far too long. Pours a clear cola brown. Sweet old malt and roast hits right away. Definitely some age evident on this. Quite sweet, plum and prune. Probably too old. Sweet with some roast notes before turning sweeter still for a soda like finish. Meh.
