COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

12oz bottle served in a tulip pour was moter oil black with three inches of tan chocolate head and a solid show of lacing. Nose was very weak the only thing i could detect was light malt. Taste was full bodied and creamy but not in a good way had sour finish that i found very unpleasant.. The only thing this brew has going for it was the appearance.

12 oz bottle served in a tulip and shared with dfox670. Pour is cola with three fingers of beige head that leaves nice lacing and has better than average retention. Nose is light malt, basement, and notes of black licorice. Taste starts with a quick shot of a light lager taste, then is followed by a mellow hop bitter. A caramel & black licorice bomb goes off and blasts right through the finish. The only good things I can say about this brew are the appearance, and the body is quite creamy. I am not big on black licorice, and that is the main course for this offering.

Black lager but surprising light tasting. Definite sweetness in this beer with slight tartness. Goes down easy but will make you skip lunch.

12 ounce bottle from beer of the month club, poured into a pint glass. Dark, opaque, brownish-black in color with a brownish head that stays for a very long time. Some dark fruit aromas with just a little bit of roasted coffee. Dark fruit flavors like plums and dates, with some malt sweetness, especially molasses. Also flavors of rum and licorice. Very complex beer. Smooth, silky, creamy mouthfeel, not what you would expect from a dark beer. Relatively lighter bodied and a lingering molasses finish. According to BOMC, this black lager has little in common with the German style Schwarzbier, it’s much more sweet and fruity than that style. Despite the sweetness in the beer, I could drink these all night. Complex, smooth and light enough to really enjoy as a session beer.

Very flavorful! Big mouthfeel of roasted malt and caramel that goes to a clean dry finish with surprising smoothness. I purchased one bottle to try it; I will definitely stock up!

Very sweet molasses aroma. The head is tan and fades away quickly. I was disappointed with the taste, it was sort of stale and reminded me of flat cola.
