COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

Unexpectedly rich, complex dark dunkel style beer from Brazil. Loved the creamy, refreshing nature and how well the espresso/chocolate flavors countered the bitter aspects. I really recommend this one to anyone who would be surprised that a tropical nation could produce any beer with depth.

I think this beer is fantastic! Yes, it is different. not particularly hoppy, but I like the change of pace. This beer is very smooth and there is not much carbonation to speak of, but I like the idea of a rich and fragrant flavor without the bitter after taste of an IPA. Although I like this beer, I will admit that this beer is not traditional in the sense of its flavor or presentation.

Very different. Enjoyable but not incredible. Very smooth, some black licorice notes. Not much of a head. Props for being different, as mentioned

Light bodied on the pour with no real head to speak of. Not much lacing really going on either. I smell malts, slight caramel and a slight lager smell as well. I get slight hops, along with some sweet malts, subtle caramel. Not really too much going on but it seems to be good for the style.

Pours a stark black with a medium tan head. Nice head retention. Nose is sweet with hints of coffee and chocolate. Very smooth, not crisp, on the palate. Very full flavor. Chocolate and anise come to the front with a slightly sweet malt character. Not much hop balance. Very easy drinking.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark black with a small quickly vanishing tan head. It has a complex aroma of chocolate, espresso, vanilla and a little raisin. It tastes of chocolate, sweet cherries, vanilla, and coffee. It has a very nice creamy mouthfeel. I really think this is a high quality and underrated beer.

Bottle Sabor de Minas Restaurant, Ouro Preto. Pours dark reddish brown with big beige head. Aroma of malt and brown sugar. Medium bodied with faint sweetness and faint maltiness - balanced taste. Best of the Brazilian dark beers tasted thus far.
