My first South American brew. The body is totally opaque with a purplish cream head that fades quick. Aroma is very light and almost soapy. Taste is a rich, coffee, toffee blend that finishes relatively clean. Heavy flavor, yet smooth.

My introduction to black ales. Strong scent with great carbonation for a dark ale. Powerful malty taste without the bitter afterbite of a stout. I greatly enjoyed this beer.

Draft at Abbey Burger. Pours opaque dark brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Tastes like burnt toast, dark coffee, toasted grains, roasted malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells burnt toast, malt, dark coffee, starchy grains.

Bottle at home from backlog notes 07/08. Pours dark brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted malt, hints of chocolate and stale coffee, slight earthy bitterness, thin, caramel, more sweet than I would expect.

Aroma is rich sweet malts with a slightly funky aroma. There is a pale apple aroma aswell. Taste is sweet malts thst isnt too complex, paured with sone light bland hops. Appearance is a dark brown body with a pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

Pours a pitch black color with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty with some mild roasted sugars coming in. Taste is pretty sweet, not overpowering. Tastes a little bit bock-ish more than your typical Southamerican ultra-sweet Schwarzbier. Hints of caramel and brown sugar. Texture is surprisingly light with a lively carbonation aiming at a fairly drinkable commercial dark lager. Anyway it has reasonable craftmanship and tastes really good.

Bottle from bamboo door, Sheffield. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is same but with some slight dry grassy bitterness. Looks great, opaque black beer with a good tan head. Decent carbonation, slightly watery body.

Lite caramel malt aroma dark color with thin tan head. Simple clean Schwartz bier. A little roasted malt up front followed by a sweet finish. Easy to drink beer, probably good for non beer drinkers. A bit like a shandy/Radler.
