3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was somewhat dark and a slight brown around the edges. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within about thirty seconds. The lacing, well, it slides for the most part.
The smell didn’t really have much but what was there was a light roasty coffee aroma trying to run about but ends up coming across extremely light.
The taste was basically the same as the smell.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and decent for the style.
Overall, I say this was a good Schwarzbier I could have again.

Black beer, small brown head. Nose is malts, light roast. Flavor is sweet chocolate-toffee notes with bready malts, mild bitterness and slight roast in the finish. Fizzy but almost sticky mouthfeel. Too sweet for me.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
a wonderful decadent Schwarzbier (light-bodied German black lager) brewed by an award winning Brazilian craft brewer. This is a more intense interpretation of the traditional Schwarzbier style with just a fleeting hint malt sweetness before the rich roasty-chocolaty flavour goes into a dry, hoppy clean finish. This is one of the best black lagers I’ve tasted – slightly rich without losing its light bodied character – like Kostritzer on steroids. If they were serving this in Brazilian sports bars during world cup, no doubt it made Brazil’s loss much more palatable.

3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice light brown top at first. Smells like ... astually has no special aroma, but tastest like a rootbeer, quite sweet. Overall it’s a nice black beer for summer, I think It would be weak in winter, but for a dark lager, this is a very pleasant beer at a very hot summer day.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black, opaque. Very little head dissipated almost immediately. Aroma is toasted malt, coffee, some grassy hops, licorice (very light.) Flavor is a pleasing combination of roasted coffee, light hop bite, and light bitterness. Pleasantly surprised with this one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours an almost pitch black color with a one finger of tan colored head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a roasted malt smell as well as some other darker aromas of cocoa. Along with the darker aromas are some sweeter smells with some caramel and a bit of a cola like aroma. A little bit of a nutty and plum smell are there as well with a hint of graininess rounding it all out.
Taste – The taste begins a roasted malt and cola like flavor with some fruit flavors of a light plum. The plum flavors get more intense as the flavors advances with a little bit of coffee adding a touch of bitterness. While the coffee comes to the tongue it quickly fades all while the sweeter plum and cola flavors get more intense. A light herbal flavor mixed with some nutty and chocolate flavors come at the end and mixes with the rest of the flavors to leave a light roasty and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is average. The thinner body is quite appropriate for the lower abv and the sweeter flavors of the brew, but did minimize some of the darker flavors. The average carbonation was rather fitting for the brew and taking into account the thinness, made for a fairly good feel overall.
Overall – A sweet and easy drinking lighter roasted black lager. A good “darker” brew for a warmer summer day.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 0.355l. Hazy ruby brown color with small light brown frothy head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of cereals, wine, mild roasted malt and dark fruits. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel malt, follows by mild roasted malt and coffee with dark fruity notes and light bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Quite average mainstream beer, a bit too artificial aroma and sweetness...
