Pours a deep dark color with high carbonation and a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet with hints of molasses and fruit. Loses me a little with the taste and palate. A little too fizzy and sweet. The complexity of the aroma seems to get lost. Still, all in all not a bad beer.

Bottle from Tesco. Looks like a Schwarzbier, smells of a branch. Virtually no taste whatsoever. Extremely disappointing. Reminiscent of carbonated dishwater. Life is too short for this sort of craaaaap, so threw half the bottle down the plughole.

Bottled. Thought it said ’brewed by Amazonian Indians’ which made me feel really virtuous by buying it but on closer inspection it said ’inspired by beers brewed by Amazonian Indian’ ... bah!
Dark brown beer with caramel head. Very little aroma smelt a bit musty and malty. Lovely mouth feel with sweet, malty, nutty taste. Very easy to drink.

Enjoyed with a wonderful dinner at Bobins in Cambria. Dinner was amazing, beer was better for where it was. A sweet lager or light ale taste. Bit of spice and sweetness everywhere. Bitter finish. Nutty, and gooey in the finish.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 rampmaster (643) - Alden, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2010
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is no freshness date or abv on the label.
Appearance: It pours into the glass a very dark brown/black color and when held up to the light it shows very dark crimson highlights. On top sits a nice tan head of slow fading foam. A thin cap hangs on to the end. Lacing is mostly slick but there is some sticky lace just up at the top of the glass.
Smell: Sweet roasted barley and bready notes fill the nose. Also there are hints of raw grain and even some very slight white grape and peach candy notes.
Taste/Palate: Just as the aroma suggests there is a good sweet roasted malty character. I also picked up the fruity notes of white grape and sugar covered peach gummy candy. The body is quite easy drinking, about a light medium. Its texture is some with a light or mellow, yet still active carbonation.
Notes: This beer really surprised me. It was very tasty with some nice flavor nuances or complexity while still having a modest body that is very drinkable.

Black pour and medium tan head. Very weak aroma of chocolate and caramel malts. Flavor includes hints of chocolate and caramel malts, coffee, smoke, molasses, and some breadiness. Rather weak overall.

Black pour with a thick tan head. The nose is lightly sweet with a fairly pronounced licorice and dark toffee aroma. A bit of brown sugar and toasted malt. Even a little bit of light plumminess. No roast but a bit of sweet, dark maltiness. Pretty rich. It’s a bit sweet but I like it anyway.
