COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a short lived mocha colored head, with good lacing, over a clear dark brown black (SRM 35) body....nose is dark roasted malts (coffee, chocolate, molasses) bit of wood and spice including anise....taste is sweet malts with caramel. toffee, molasses, fruit tones (banana, mango) ending slightly bitter and medium dry.....mouth feel is light, carbonation medium. This is a very interesting exotic beer with many layers of flavor.

1st August 2008. Opaque black brown beer. Very light and crisp. Very minerally with just an undertone of malt. Light finish and a light beer. Refreshing and a little different.

Bottle, Tesco, Carlisle. One I’ve been meaning to try for a while, as it looked intriguing. Soft and full flavoured, with plenty of berries in the taste. Quite light in body, drank like a pleasant sweetish mild. Not bad, but not spectacular.

I had not seen this beer since back in my early days of rating so it was nice to come across it again. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small dark brown head that faded quickly. The aroma was fruity and malty with a touch of cherry and a anise. The flavor was ripe cherry, roasty malts, a touch of molasses, caramel and vanilla. The finish was long with malt and cherry. Medium body. Nice.

i was surprised by this. nice dark black color, good body. has a sweet caramel malt aroma. Taste is some roast malts, caramel, and maybe a hint of licorice.

Bottle - Pours dark and beautiful, with a big, bubbly tan head. Aroma is clean, with malty sweetness almost like an Oktoberfest, with honey and light fruit notes. Taste is chocolate and bread, with a light floral hop finish. Light and easy to drink, I could see myself taking several of these down without even knowing it. Very nice.

Full and thick mouthfeel, beautifully jet black pour, spot-on use of malt (erupting into notes of roasted fillintheblank), and a finish which prompts a return to drinking.
