Pours a black color with a dark tan head. Smells strongly of roasted malt. D pretty good style of beer, but nothing I would consistently drink.

12 oz bottle Market of Choice. Pours deep black with a thick tan head. Aroma was actually almost non-existent. Very low amount of roast. Flavor was roasty and smoky with some biscuity malts and light peat. Pretty solid beer overall outside of the strange non-aroma.

My brother keeps talking about Xingu, he drank it at Flat Rock Saloon once, blah, blah, blah. so I bought him a six-pack (about eight bucks) and he shared. Mild dark lager, reminded me a bit of Lowenbrau Dark (that was made in the 90’s by Miller Brewing Co). Happy to try it and buy my brother some. I remember seeing Xingu in NJ liquor stores for the past 20 years. Guess it was finally time for me to try it.

Pours dark brown with thick mahogany highlights and a 2 finger beiger head that has good retention. Aroma is sweet grain, apple, a little roast, and maybe a little caramel. Flavor is sour apple, roast, toasted grain, light bready yeast, sweet malt and a little mineral water to the finish. Palate is light bodied slightly slick on entry, lightly carbonated and dry on the finish. OK stuff, odd for the style (to me at least) but still OK. Probably not a repeat buy though.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dragonblaze99 (354) - Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2009
Sweet malty aroma. Black with little head. Flavour is roast malt with very slight hoppiness. Palate is medium-bodied. Finishes roast caramel. Not bad at all, but not a real Schwarzbier.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Hopper (751) - The Alamo, Texas, USA - AUG 5, 2009
A dark beer with no head that does not look even close to the frothy one in the picture. Aroma was lightly roasted malt. Taste was like a weak watered down porter with no flavor. A easy beer to drink & by the way it looks you would think it has more taste to it but lacks any flavor profile.

Single bottle into a pint glass
That clean musty lager smell that leads to a nice smooth flavor that is almost a bit light for a dark lager... Nice and easy drinking, but not quite roasty or complex enough for a good Schwarz.
