COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

I drink my beer over dinner. Usually they change taste over the course of the meal. This one held its taste. Very smooth stout. No bitter after taste. I really enjoyed it.

Bottle - pours solid black with a small head. Not much aroma but it has a rich malt flavor and a creamy smooth mouthfeel. Decent. For a cheese pairing I recommend cheese puffs.

Looks like a well crafted soda, deep brown with some tan head. Oat ans spice aroma. Taste is roasted malt, reminds me of chewing barley on brewery tours. Maybe some licorice and caramel. Kind of sweet and cloying at finish. This beer caught first caught me with its rain forest conservation pledge. (Owned by Mexican beer empire, but that’s for another rating.)

Bottle from trade with Leighton. Pitch black, opaque color, medium sized beige head. Smell lightly sweet and malts. Taste sweet, somehow some oatmeal as well, slightly some roastyness. Decent carbonation, average body. Decent beer.

Had my first from the dusty shelves of the Original Hot Dog Shop in Pittsburgh where it sat unappreciated for who knows how long. Pours like the muddy waters of the Amazon into a well flavored and very tasty concoction of spices and flavorings. This may be the fountain of youth we’ve all been looking for.

Bottle. Pours dark red/brown with a 2-finger creamy light brown head that leaves blebby lacing. Aromas of sweet corn and sugar. The flavor is sweet sugar cane, toasted malt and cocoa, marshmallow, vanilla, and chalk. Medium carbonation and body. Meh. [864]

It poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was of nuts, figs and chocolate. The flavor was of carob, caramel and nuts. A decent schwarzbier.
