Pours black with an off white head, which provides no lacing, and disappears quickly. aroma is earthy with some darker fruits, and slightly spicy. Tastes resemble the nose, a very easy drinking beer, nothing overpowering, with a smooth, light texture. leaves behind a moderately lasting bitterness. needs to be served fairly cold, as it seemed to lose a bit of its flavors as it warmed up but still quite good!

Pours a dark cola brown with a short tan head. Iím in a bar with smoke wafting in, so the nose is escaping me. A bit of a roasted aroma. The mouthfeel is characterized by a full body and a smooth texture. Some light scrubbiness. Good flavor. Sweet potato and brown sugar. Iím impressed with how this beer drinks.

My first foray into Brazilian and South American beers, and I must say I was a bit disappointed. I had heard multiple endorsements of Xingu schwarzbier, and my sample of this brew didnít quite measure up. OK appearance, almost black, but reminded me of Coca-Cola. Aroma was caramel malt but only with mild intensity. Taste was sweet caramel and toffee, a little fruitiness. I think the finish could be best described as liquorice. Not a bad combination of flavors but didnít strike me as refreshing. A little sticky on the palate. Just OK overall.

Black color with small beige head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and tropical fruits. Taste is malty sweet with roast and fruity notes. Slight bitterness in aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Dried fruit aroma. Pours dark black. Taste is dried fruit, vanilla and roasted malt, with almost no bitterness. Low carbonation and a medium mouthfeel. Decent, but nothing special.

Not much aroma. Sort of toffee-like. Flavor is nice - roasted malt with some sweetness in the finish. Silky mouthfeel. Would like a little more potent flavor and long-lasting finish, but still a nice beer in a style I really like.

Overrated and way overpriced, but Xingu is still a good black beer. Aroma and appearance arenít anything special. The taste, on the other hand, is excellent. Lots of cream and chocolate flavor in this dark lager. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Iíd happily have another one of these... so long as someone else is buying.
