UPDATED: SEP 15, 2010 Honestly I can find nothing wrong with this beer. Pours VERY dark. Aroma is sweet. Leaves no aftertaste but has a hint of sweetness. 4.6
RE-RATE 9/15/10 Bottle at FW Saucer poured into my new Xingu glass. Pours a very dark brown color with a tannish head. Aroma is sweet malt and grapes with a small amount of roast. Flavor is fruit right away with sweet grain over a light body. Still nice and easy drinking.

A 0.355L bottle from K-Supermarket. Pale brown head. Dark black reddish colour. Mild slightly licoricey taste. Slightly sour. When warmer some syropy and bitterness.

Marvelous, crisp fruity schwarzbier. Smells of grapes and malt, and is lighter and softer than it looks. This is a good six-pack to bring to a party and get drunk on.

Black pour, with 1 finger tan head, which dissipated quickly but leaves nice lacing throughout. Couldn’t get much discernible smell, It has a sweet sorta smell to it, but I couldn’t tell you what it is. The taste does sorta have a soy sauce characteristic about it, some kind of fruit to it also. There is a molasses taste im getting as well near the end. Don’t get any hop flavor from this one. Thin to mouthfeel to this one.
Overall this is a decent brew, just not one I will be craving ever.

Xingu appears just on the edge of black, with a light brown head that fades to a blotchy film that retains well and leaves nice lacing. It has a very faint aroma... almost a whiff of soy sauce and beef jerky. There is a touch of sugar and booze in the nose. It has a medium light body that’s pretty smooth and bubbly. It has a pretty soft, light finish. There’s some roastiness to this. There’s a slight grassy sweetness, with notes of sorghum and molasses. It’s pretty sweet and mellow. This is almost like a Caribbean or a Baltic porter.

Pour is black/brown with some tan head that quickly fades. Nose is musty malts, some chocolate. Taste is the same, some smokey notes and grape that work well. Finishes sugary/tart, which is interesting. Body is light, with ripe carbonation.
