3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thooper41 (465) - Oregon, USA - OCT 12, 2008
12oz bottle: appearance is pitch black with quick fading tan head, aroma very weak but hints of chocolate and roasted malt, flavor almost as weak but has some chocolate and roasted malt along with that lager finish taste, nothing to exciting its like a weak stout with lager yeast, had to try it once wont try it again.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 puggy211 (711) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - OCT 10, 2008
This beer poured a deep black color with a big, foamy tan head. The head quickly settled down to a thin layer of bubbles, leaving little lace behind. The aroma of this beer included faint notes of roasted malts and some dark fruit. The flavor was light cocoa and some faint fruit notes. The mouthfeel was thin and light-bodied with quite a bit of carbonation. Overall, this was pretty average. Nothing too special.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 502Flavors (1001) - Arlington/DC, Virginia, USA - OCT 10, 2008
12 oz bottle into pint glass. Great pitch black pour with a good light tan head that holds and laces - very attractive with nice lace. Aroma is soft and unique (to me) with light hints of port, molasses, a bit of yeasty barnyard funk and a couple of things I can’t put my finger on. Flavor is very light and refreshing, some what one dimensional, but good. Got a good schwarzbier dark sweet cherry character to it with some woody character too. Smooth and light bodied with a proportionally good amount of carbonation. Overall: very solid, sessionable beer, which provides a great example of a style that I am really turning on to.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 glennmastrange (1545) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2008
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of toasted, dark bread and a bit of coffee, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast, with notes of cola and a faint hint of port wine. Head is large, frothy, light brown, with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is deep dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is real nice for this beer being medium bodied, creamy in texture and has a soft to lively carbonation. Light in aromas, but still a smooth and easy drinking beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7108) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2008
A Mes rate: tap at Beer Exposed. Almost black brown coloured with a thin tan head. Very roasty, slightly sweet, almost sickly malt. Slight card, loads of fruit and a chocolate finish. Much more like your typical sweetish South American stout than like a schwarz. Too thin in the mouth to carry it properly but it’s better than I expected overall.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Rune (4667) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 1, 2008
100ml at EBF. Black red-tinged body topped by a skinny strip of foam. Roasted aroma of sweet malts. Candy sweetness dominates with dark malts behind. Light bitter tail, but still too sweet. Soft in the mouth (12.09.2008).

Sampled at EBF2008. Pours a dark reddish/brown beer with a lightbrown head. The aroma is weak with malt. The flavor is brown sugar, and the mouthfeel is a little thin.
