COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

A: cereal, coffee, citrus, Oatmeal. A: black, minimal head, brown foam, nice lacing no retention. F: medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly P: sour, light body, thin feel, lively, astringent, short finish, O: I was not really expecting anything from this. I was hopeful that it would be better then the ratings I viewed before trying it. They are right on. It is not a bad beer not a great one either. This is one for after mowing the lawn.

Black pour with a fluffy brown head and drippy brown lace. Rich malty aroma, maybe some licorice as well. Thin bodied. Cherry, chocolate and roast. Lingering sweet finish

A bit disappointed. I had someone build this up for me, but must say it was less than stellar. It’s good don’t get me wrong, a great session, but not really remerable. It’s aroma contain dark malts, no noticable hops, and really no sweetness or fruit esters. It’s appearance is a very dark color mahogany - brown. It’s head is a tan color, with exceptional tan lacing. It’s flavor is just sort of hmm. It full of dark malts, but not much more, nary a hop, hot so much as a bit of coffee. I did not notice the anise or licorice, I sort of expected. It was very smooth, it lived up to its tartness claim. Very nice, but sort of forgettable.

(Bottle). Slightly sweet malt aroma. Deep brown color with light tan head. Flavor is very mild and slightly too sweet. Some malt. Not very impressive.

(Sample at September 12, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) It’s black! Hence the schwarzbier categorization, I suppose. Nice brown head. Its appearance is awesome. Its aroma malty sweet, and its taste solid and much more tasty than most Latin American lagers. My tongue is reall enjoying the sweetness, holding on to it and even savoring nearly against my will. Wow, I’ve had way too many beers from south of the border today for my tongue to be holding onto this one for dear life.
