COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

I can’t say it poured with any head to speak of, just a little tan foam. Looks like Coca Cola. Ever so slight aroma of dark chocolate. And nothing stands out about this beer, except that it’s not bad. I think more flavors and aromas could come out with warming, except that the palate wouldn’t stand up to it. I detect just the slightest bitterness with a quick sour bite, then it’s finished. There’s more in the aftertaste. Sub-standard.

Black and slightly sweet. Reasonable body with a gentle texture. Slightly roasted. Certainly way better than anything else I have tried from Brazil.

Pours like root beer with a cola looking head. Definite herbal and licorice flavor at the beginning but not overpowering and goes down clean. Aroma is very clean. A really nice example of a Schwartzbier. Wow... the Brazillians have a great brew on their hands.

Bottle. color of this lager is a deep ruby hue. As a i held it to the light i noticed lots of small clumpy sediment scattered though out. Clearly not a sign of freshness. dark dried fruits and a soft malty sweetness come through on the nose. not bad in the flavor department, malty with nice roastiness and decent carbonation. the sediment doesn’t seem to hurt the flavor, and it never settles to them bottom, just stays there suspended in the beer

Pours dark brown, almost black wit a creamy brown head. Aroma is light, but sweet. Malty. Flavor is surprising. Nutty and sweet. Tastes like a good brown ale, only smoother. Slightly tart. Notes of nut and coffee. Surprising that a country that far south could make something this decent. By FAR the best Latin American beer that Ive tasted.

Gregis (1250) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - MAY 9, 2008
Pours black with ruby highlights and two fingers of pitted light tan head that diminishes to a thin skin, leaving patchy lace behind. The nose is a sweet and slightly sour blend of caramel and faint cocoa. Medium-bodied and slick with soft, effervescent carbonation and a clean finish. The flavor is of caramel, chocolaty bread dough and an unexpected fruity tartness at the finish. This is a fairly tasty and interesting interpretation of the style.

Deep brown colour with a tan head. Light roasted malty aroma with fruity notes and hints of bread. Malty, fruity sweet flavor with a light roasted note. Dry, toasted malty finish with a very vague coffee note.

Bottle...pours very dark brown, appears black...no lasting head, but its the color of brown sugar...sweet yet light, and hearty...a chalky feel left on the teeth, weird...its quite tasty though and very well rounded...light aromas, mainly a sweet malt, and a little nutty...mocha, toffee, and the same nuttiness in nose and tongue...a bit of just watery beer taste with a drop of chocolate...the mouth feel is the best part of this beer, the carbonation versus the weight of the beer blend is just right...I can dig it...a sweet finish of sugar
