3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a really tasty black beer. We paired it with black bean stew. Black beans, ribs, sausage, and some goat cheese. The flavor of the beer is really good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Normally love a Brizillian but this one a touch too shaved. Better taste than the listed ingredients suggest. No chocolate in this brown just sweet toffee. Liked it more than I would predict from the marketing.

Really interesting flavor. It is light but has hint of the dark flavors. Sweetness makes this not what you expect when you see how dark it is.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Purchased in Morrisons, Stevenston on the 20th February 2015. 330ml bottle poured into a chalice glass. Clear dark mahogany in colour with a thin pale buff head. Sweet malty aroma with a brief note of black cherry present. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malt gives a moist maltloaf base with strong syrupy raisin fruit full in the mouth. There is a short hop prickle lurking in the aftertaste but this is very short lived. Finish is malty and vinous with sweet cherry bakewell tart undertones to it. I was quite surprised how much I actually enjoyed this, as it tasted more like an Alt than a Schwarzbier? At 99 pence - a bargain!
