Andrew196 (1089), Anaheim Hills, California, USA Sep 9, 2004 Definitely a good example of a schwarz. Thin, tan colored head. All of the roasted maltiness of a stout, but without the overly thick and creamy mouthfeel. Distinctive flavor. but nothing was too overbearing. Not bad.
Allen (559), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 20, 2008 Bottled 355ml. 4.6 ABV. It pours a beautiful dark beer with red reflects. Decent beige head. The nose is of raisins, glue, cork and sour apples accompanied by grainy and sulphury components. The taste is rather sour. Nice lacework. Light bodied. Watery, grainy and sweetish. Very low bitterness. Notes of celery sneaking in. Unpleasant slight dry finish with a hint of bitterness. NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 Slightly sour aroma and subtle chocolate flavor. Very thin and watery. Not bad though, completely drinkable. Steinface (63), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2008 I honestly don’t know how to describe this beer. One of the strangest brews I’ve ever had. Very dark and tart. decaturstevo (1181), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 14, 2008 Dark brown pour almost stoutish. With light off white head and lace. Bit of a toasted malt aroma but is laced with a bit of funk aroma with a hint of cheap cough syrup. Slight mediciney flavor with a bit of an unpleasant in a way bitter. A little thin and foamy. A beer taht is drinkable but surly is lacking in something. BeerBiker (1159), Odense, Denmark Aug 13, 2008 [Sampled on svogertour with Thomas and Troels at Mols.] More sweet and some unbalanced and watery. Otherwise great for an exotic beer.
