Served in a snifter. An aggressive pour yields a solid 1+ finger light tan creamy head that is falling steadily as I watch, leaving a substantive lacing on the sides of the glass. The color is black, with some clear brown on the edges when examined with a light. Aroma is mild and elusive, perhaps that of a light chocolate bar with a touch of vanilla. Flavor is mild and balanced, with a hint of sweetness, a hint of bitterness, and a light roast malts. Palate is as promised, creamy and pleasing, driven more by the soft carbonation and less by the body. At 4.4% this is a decent session beer.

MarkoNm (255) - SLOVENIA - APR 17, 2014
Pours an extremely deep black color, topped with a generous dark beige head with nice retention. The aroma is very mild. All I could pick up was some malts and a tiny amount of roastiness. The taste starts neutral, it has a balanced body, and finishes with a decent bitterness and some roasty feel. The aftertaste is nicely bitter. Decent. Very,

Bottle thanks to Jan. Dark garnet with a dark tan head. Sour pills and malt aromas. Sweet grain and a little caramely.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with small khaki colored head that has good retention. The aroma is mild with faint licorice, black-strap and roasted barley. The taste is more of the same; anise, molasses and blackened grains dominate. The palate was just a bit off, there was a gritty feeling on the finish. Finished short and dry. Overall: Decent brewski.

Dark bottle pour. Little tan head. Faint chocolate grainy aroma. A little malt up front. Tastes of dark roast, wheat, and a lot of bread. Long, doughy finish. Overall, I liked this beer a lot.

I found this to be a very tasty beer. It went well with the meats at Fogo de Chao. Nice, dark beer with a cream colored head. Tasted of malt and caramel. Smooth drinking, not heavy at all.

355ml bottle. Black brown color, off-white head and aroma of malt, raisins & molasses. Taste is sweetish roast malt, with cola, brown sugar, and slight bitterness. Light bodied, low to medium carbonation, malty bitter finish with some residual sweetness. Quite OK.
