1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
After much effort, I find that there is little to say about the aroma, because the aroma is found wanting. If anything, I smell the slightest breath of rust. This probably has a lot to do with its heavy concentration of head. It is a dark-colored, and quite opaque beer. Even when illuminated with my high powered Stinger LED flashlight, very little light makes it through. Both sweet and bitter, with a little sourness, itís hard to describe--but not entirely pleasant. The carbonation seems artificial, and leaves no finish. I donít know what I paid for this one, but the money can definitely be better spent on other beers of its type.
OK, an hour later and Iím still trying to put this one down. I almost want to dump it down the drain for a new brew. Iím left with the astringent flavor of witch hazel. I am downgrading this beer.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours black with beige head. Aroma promises something sweet. Notes of licorice. Flavour is indeed a bit sweet and roasted. Notes of licorice here too. Also, a bit rough. Somewhat watery.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma with yeasty, unspecific fruity notes, somewhere between orange, cherry and red berries. Taste is minimally metallic, dark malty with a touch of cherry. OK.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
35.5cl. Dark brown with nice malty nose. The beer starts sweet, slightly malty, a bit artificial. The mainpart is a bit watery, malty-dry, but still sweet. The aftertaste is short, malty sweet, not like a great black beer.

Thanks to erzengel for sharing! Pours pitch black with a deep tan head. The smell is roasted malt, licorice, molassas. Taste is cardboard, artificial sweetener, The body is light + and soft carbonation. Overall I canít get past the artificial sweetener taste....

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Coopís November Beer discovery bag (2 of 4 reviews, 6 beers). Black pour with a bubbly tan head of little retention. Aroma is burnt cereal . Mouthfeel clean, medium-high carbonation. Taste is dominated by an almost burnt graininess, the roast malt character isnt tempered by anything but the carbonation or odd noble hop sensatons. Not smooth, nor drinkable, I hope to find a better Brazilian brew out there.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2013 Uninspiring pour. Pitch black with no head or lacing. Aroma smells like raisins and sheet metal. Taste is actually really good - brown sugar with a clean finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Man, I used to love this beer. Been probably 4 years since my last bottle of Xingu; let's see how this fares with my palate now...
Dark brown/amber color sports plenty of handsome, deep tan lace. Aroma of plums and sweet malted grain butt up against some serious cardboard oxidation. Hmmm.
Taste begins light and fruity, turning buttery-sweet midway through until the end. Honestly tastes like there are adjuncts in here. Light, crisp body seems a bit thin for the style, but I don't drink enough Schwarzbier to say so definitively.
Truly does taste like a mass-produced lager, which wasn't expected. Not bad, but not particularly good either.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Rayís in Tosa. Pours an opaque black with a faint tan head leaving almost no lacing. Aroma has caramel and chocolate with something vegetal. Taste is of sweet choco/caramel with some molasses. Not very deep. Light to medium bodied. Finishes sweet and a bit dry. Lowly carbonated. Solid taste, not much else.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Black pour with a tan head. Not a whole lot going on with the aromas, some subtle malt notes but thatís really it. Flavor has some malt presence but still not a lot going on. A bit watery. Very smooth and easy to drink but lacking in complexity and flavor.
