COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Fiiltered
A black lager which was launched after studies by American anthropologist Alan D Eames into Amazon beer. The beer is claimed to be based on recipes for ancient Amazon beer, though critics are sceptical as neither the ingredients nor the production method match Eames’ studies. Lagering and hops were unknown to the Amazon Indians.

Bland but very drinkable dark beer. Not too sweet, went well with the meal. Feels like a watered down stronger beer.

Aroma fortemente lupulado, essa cerveja não possui nenhuma acetuação de um bom sabor. Razoável coloração preta e creme, sabor razoavelmente lupulado não prevalecendo o malte, com alta carbonatação e contragosto não muito agradável. Simples demais.

Xingu has a fairly thin, beige head and a very dark brown appearance, with lighter brown around the edges, some lacing, and a good number of streaming bubbles. The aroma is of dark-roasted malts and grain husks. Taste is of dark-roasted malt, grain husk, hints of chocolate and coffee, and it has a nice cream or cafe-au-lait aspect to it. Mouthfeel is medium, and Xingu finishes refreshing and somewhat dry. Overall, this is an excellent beer, and I highly recommend it. RJT

12 oz. bottle bours an oppaque dark brown/black with very little head. Nothing much to smell. For such a dark beer, the body is fairly light. Easy to drink. Aroma is bland. Average carbonation. What distinguishes this is the nutty finish of almonds. I’m glad to have tried it but [doubt I’ll come back for more.

Slight aroma of cacao, coffee and plum. Appearance is black with mocha head; lacing was decent as well. Flavor matches the nose with an overall chocolate feeling; the coffee takes a backseat to the plum. Palate is lightly bubbly and cooling. Not the worst Schwarz I’ve had, but nothing really of note.

Pours a dark brownish black, looks great I can’t wait to try it. The aroma is strange, a surprising stale odor of a macro euro lager, not very pleasant. The flavor isn’t much better than the odor. This brew tastes like somebody watered down one ounce of a decent dark lager with eleven ounces of a macro lager. There’s something very artificial about this beer and I don’t like it. I will be steering clear of this one in the future.

Surprisingly light for such a dark looking beer. Went down very smoothly and tasted pretty decent but not strong/complex taste

355ml bottle from Piers as a Christmas gift. Fascinating background to this beer - that it is based on ancient Amazon recipes. Shame that it’s not true. However, the beer is pleasant enough to stand up for itself without all the fuss about its true origins. A sweetish, malty dark lager with an attractive carbonation. Drinkable and pleasant. I could drink a few of these.

One of wife’s Christmas gifts for me. Pours dark brown/black thin head. Tastes of brown sugar, licorice, light spruce, mild bitterness. Medium bodied and silky texture. In like it.
