Cask handpump at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford 22.06.12 Pours gold amber with a slim white head, looks great. Initially a little sweet and despite being a decent drop quite a departure from the very hoppy Acorn Newport IPA. Smooth easy drinking golden bitter. The bitterness is there but a tad too subtle for me. Pleasant beer but I would have liked something a bit brasher and more assertive. A6 A5 T7 P3 Ov12 3.3

Cask conditioned handpump Far From The Madding Crowd Oxford. An orange gold coloured beer with hardly any head. A decent sticky orangey hoppy beer. A bit of sweet toffee malt to balance. A good body and a pretty nice beer.

Cask at Leicester Beer Festival 2012. Clear amber with no head. No noticeable aroma, slight bitter hops but really not much to this. Short finish. A bit watery. A bit ordinary when compared with many of the other beers I tried at the festival. Probably a decent session beer.

Cask, Leicester Fest 12. Hazy gold with a bubbly foam. Aromas are toffee, caramel and apple with bready yeast and soft spices. Earthy with herbal notes. Leafy with autumn berries. Flavours are biscuit and cereal with mellow lemon and some cardboard. Bready yeast with earthy apple and pear. Well carbonated with a sweet, dry finish. Not bad.

Cask at Craft Beer Co on 30th November 2011. Clear amber with very thin white film and no lacing. Clean, sweet malty, slightly woody aromas. Very fruity liquid with berries, soft fruit and biscuit maltiness. A lingering sweet finish ensues, with clean maltiness the main feature. Zingy, light carbonation. Enjoyable pint.
