COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
An amber beer with a special Belgian malt and a fruity mix of American and European hops. Very addictive, and our flagship beer.

Cask at The Rising Sun, Berkhamsted on 26 July 2012. Poured a clear amber, with an off white head. Aroma was nutty and malt heavy, with some straw. Caramel and chewy grain flavours, with some light grassy hop. Finish was biscuit, toffee and hop resin.

Dark-ish amber with a sweet malty nose. There’s some biscuit there, a little smokiness which adds up to a quite distinctive beer. Finish is long and bitter. Reminds me somewhat of Purity’s Mad Goose.

Cask at the Elm Tree, Cambridge. Copper/amber, clear with not so much head. Chestnut, spruce, tangerine and gingerbread in the nose. Bittersweet refreshing taste with a sweet gingersnap finish and aftertaste. Weak palette is a letdown. Decent.

Cask gravity at the Watford RFC beer fest. Nice rich red amber coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is subdued caramel with lemon citrus and berry hop. Touch of grass. Flavour is composed of caramel, biscuit and a touch of toffee malts and good clean English yeast ferment. Hops are earthy grass, berry and touch of citrus. Medium easy going palate with fine carbonation. Decent condition. Tasty ale.

On tap at a pub in the Oxford area called Eight Bells. Smell of candy, perfume, light hops and fruits. Similar taste. The perfume aroma is not my kind of thing.

Cask conditioned handpump Lamplighter Northampton 08/03 A classic brown coloured beer a whitish head and lace. Interesting and certainly flavoursome. A sweetish oaky note in the mouth. Smooth and very wasy to drink. Bit of fruit, bit of cake. Nice stuff.

Cask. Rusty clear golden, this lacing white head. Simple orangey malt nose. Shuffling bitterness throughout, initial taste is bright clementine and lemon. Middle begins to depart a little towards dryness, thinning but maltier. Odd mojito minty/limey finish, very faint, before a crushing dry dusty linger. Best of a bad bunch and CBSS.

Light brown. Aroma has pale malts and is quite fruity. Flavour has fresh malts and has a hoppy edge. Dry finish. Balanced session beer.
