Cask; Status uncertain.
Nine Malts (including Belgian Aromatic, and Smoked), Nine hops (Apollo, Bravo, Columbus, Delta, EK Goldings, First Gold, Galena, Hellertauer, Junga) and two strains of yeast - this is a very special beer made for the drinker who wants something different. This is NOT a stout, itís something else entirely. Big malt aroma on a bitter, balanced hop finish.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a creamy off-white head. Itís smooth tasting, but not velvet-like as the name might suggest with dark malts evident but not as strong tasting as its content suggests.

Bottle from Eebria. Pours black with a red tint, two finger off white head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, malts. Taste of initial smokiness, then some dark fruits, orange, chocolate, coffee, then a light hoppy, lemon-citrus finish. Nice.

Bottle. Black beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is lightly bitter, and the flavour has some dulled richness and some nice roastedness. Overall a nice stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask in Brigantes, York. Pours mahogany with a good tan head. Fruity pineapple notes over caramel and coffee. Doesnít quite hang together for me. Some slight cheese notes.

Clear dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is airy, dry and minerally crisp. The malts are light feeling but retain good dark malt flavours, LIttle earthy coffee, mild roast. Zingy dried fruits. Mild floralness. Medium to strong bitterness. Touch of piney orange hop before the dry finish. Bitter linger, Complex and tasty.

Bottle from the Red Squirrel Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured black, with a dense beige head. Aroma was fairly light and rather sweet; some dark fruit, chocolate and liquorice. Nice medium to thick mouth feel. Initial flavours of prunes, caramel and rye bread build up to massive bitter burnt malts, grassy hops and really dark chocolate. Wonderful lingering flavours. Quite strange as very little was given away on the nose.
