4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
My new favorite. This is a very complex stout. While it goes well with main fair the flavors really develop with deserts. I had it with a bananas and yogurt Indian dish at the Yak and Yetti and it was amazing. Again, this is a very complex and subtle stout, you must pay attention to the nuances and taste development with various foods.

Pretty cool one here. Chai is very noticeable in both aromas and flavors. Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, definitely notice the lactose in the mouthfeel which is med-heavy.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint at the brewpub. I was expecting a very aggressive beer, but this is a medium-bodied, balanced sipper. The aroma has chai spice, without the ginger burn, more cinnamon. The lactose makes things sweet, but not over the top. Very slick palate. This sweet stout pairs well with the spicy, bold flavors of the food. It was enjoyable for the pint, but I would begin to lose my enthusiasm if I tried to drink much more than that.

Tap - you really need to love chai to enjoy this, as that character really takes over, especially the cardamom - thankfully, I do love chai - the sweetness is a bit high from the lactose, but it does also add a nice softness to the texture - flavors of cardamom, prune, chocolate - mild bitterness, with a lingering milk chocolate and cardamom finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black with thin tan head, aroma brought big cinnamon, clove, hints of vanilla, coffee and roast, slight chocolate and lactose as well, this is definitely a good blend of spices for the beer but itís a bit much. Taste is similar, some slight chocolate, toffee, coffee and roast but dominated by cinnamon, clove, allspice notes, finishing fairly dry.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a thin light brown head. Aroma was nice but confusing. Dark toasty roast malts mixed with some creamy light cinnamon and a touch of something spicy, I assume the chai (I never have had chai tea, so, shame on me.). Taste was much the same. Smooth and creamy with roasty dark malt tones, balanced by a tone of exotic spices and a touch of cinnamon creme.
