On tap at the brewpub. Very solid IPA. Pale yellow-amber colour with a bit of white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is plenty of hops, a big mix of different ones that makes it hard to pick out anything individual. Definitely American character. Taste is quite hop-forward - quite bitter, but not overwhelming. The malt is in there too and gives it a pretty good balance for the style. Creamy with moderate effervescence. Pretty nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy dark amber color, with a bit of head. Big load of very citrus hops up front, backed up with some very decent malts. A winner here!

Very good beer. Nice dark orange color, nice head. Really tasteful ipa-taste, strong grapefruit aroma. I like it....

Pint on tap at the brewery pours a golden color with about a finger of white head that left a few spots of lacing behind. Aroma is big citrusy hops. Taste is citrus hop bitterness and a little malty sweetness hidden underneath. A light to medium body and adequate carbonation leave a nice mouthfeel. This is a solid IPA that is worthy of a tasting by any beer afficionado.

Cloudy amber body with fizzy tan head. Smells of tons of citrus, hops, and other floral essences. The taste is the same as the smell yet more hoppy. Medium finish. Overall a decent IPA

The amber color is quite cloudy as usual, with medium sized creamy head, and nice lace. The aroma is distinctively fruity, followed by the malt and finally a light yeast sweatiness. Good body, smooth mouthfeel; it has a very good malt and toffee flavor, with some pleasant residual sweetness; the hopping is perfectly balancing the sweetness, and is adding soft orangey resins. Long final, a bit drier and with very light astringency.
It provides pleasant fresh impressions.

2011-08-18, Cask at the brewpub, as IPA with Sirachi Ace (typo?), 8-5-7-4-15=39
Cloudy amber color, with a small sized cask type head, quite creamy in the beginning. Nice aroma, typical Sorachi Ace, citrusy, soapy, also lemon cookies, a bit biscuity; this one as well has some sweaty hops. Good mouthfeel, good toffee flavor, some caramel, but a bit harsh on the bitterness; the hopping is very resiny and quite fruity.
Very good, but rough, not as amazing as the Simcoe.
4 pints…

2011-08-04, Cask at the brewpub, as IPA with Simcoe, 8-5-9-5-17=44
Cloudy amber color; generous head, compact, persistent. Very nice aroma of hops, fruity and sweaty, traces of mango and mint too. The lack of carbonation not only creates a smooth mouthfeel, but it also improves the toffee flavor; quite strong hopping, without excess, with plenty of fruity character (grapefruit; oranges…) and a hint of chamomile. Long final, very bitter.
Tasted side to side with the Brick & Beam IPA: very different beast, this one is without the sweaty hop character, besides the differences due to the low carbonation and cask conditioning.
Excellent (I had 3 pints of it).

2011-08-04, draught at the brewpub, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Hazy light amber color; creamy head. The aroma is hoppy, fruity, a bit sweaty. Good toffee flavor, quite dry; very strong bitterness, apparently resiny is the main character, some orange fruitiness coming later; some character from the yeast too; the final is quite harsh; less refreshing than last night’s glass.

2011-08-03, draught at the Alibi Room, Vancouver, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Hazy light amber color; the aroma is very fruity (stone fruits and some grapefruit). Good toffee flavor, quite dry in the front, some sugars later; strong hopping, with lots of hop oils, resins, fruits; long final; balanced and powerful. The final is a bit yeasty, unfortunately, cutting any impression of freshness.
Very good.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Odd vegetable smell. Good looks with lace. All C-hop in the taste, high BU, a hop delivery without a good balance of malt. On the aggressive carbonation side. Still, was drinkable, just wouldn’t seek it out again and half a pint was much.

Clear amber color, good steady off-white head, nice lacing. Medium-bodied. Aroma of pine needles and resin. Flavor is piney, hayish, lots of pine needles too. Nice bitterness, but slightly empty on malt side. Anyway, OK.

In the english style. Notes of orange, toffee, some citrus, touch of pepper. Pours amber with a thin head. The flavor is toffee, orange, light sweetness, caramel, citrus, and a floral spicy finish. Easy to dirnk well crafted IPA.
