A couple of 4oz samples at VCBW 2012 at the Salt Building pours a reddish brown color with a small white head and some thin lacing on the sample cup. Aroma was of dark fruits and yeast with some citrus. Taste is sour cherry and lemons with a light malty sweetness and a hint of hop bitterness. Medium bodied with loads of carbonation leaving a pleasing tingle on the palate. A very good representation of the style and quite tart, but tasty.

On tap at alibi room. Light orange-brown. Filmy head. Aroma of ripe apricot, sweaty sock, barnyard. Taste is decently sour apple, but tapers off leaving a watered down palate. Decent attempt for a sour.

riversideAK (5626) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUL 6, 2011
Lightly sour and vinous aroma. Fruity notes of strawberry jam, light funk, belgian yeast notes as well. Pours reddish brown with a thin off white head. The flavor is lightly sour up front, belgian brown base throughout, hints of funk, strawberry balasamic dressing. Little lingering sweetness and a bit of sour as well. Not a bad effort but would prefer more sour.

manuchampions (1238) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 7, 2011
Sample at Opening Night Party of VCBW. Pours murky brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is certainly pithy and sour. Taste follows suit with a certain funk and yeast note. Finish lingers as many sours tend to...itís decent but in a style I still donít love Iíve had better.

MartinT (8135) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2011
My Bottom Line:
Sour cherries dominate this bubbly Oud Bruinís strange comings and goings, lending a tart and dry tasting experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark red.
-Acetaldehyde, vegetal, and mineral notes all seemed to surface at times.
-The very bubbly and dry mouthfeel let the strangeness too much room to express itself.
-The yeasts did not express themselves that eloquently, except for the nice cherry character.

On tap at Alibi Room.
