Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Malty, lightly sweet, with some adjunct. Similar flavor. Not awful.

Yan jing beer 0.33L botttle. Mild almost no nose. Pale clear hey colour. Pale fast disappearing head. Mild waterly taste. Slight softness. Hoppiness at end and some hints of lemon.

Very clear straw colour. Some head. Some grass notes in the aroma. Not bad for a Pale Lager. No hop, barley, anything... Some sourness makes it a little fresh. Thin palate, not fresh. I guess pouring it made the head, removing the fizz. Not bad, just not good. Purchased at SuperBrugsen

At least the bottle was nice, with four embossed Chinese characters at the front and "Yanjing Beer" across the back. It poured a large foamy white head that dropped off to nothing with eleven seconds. Colour was a medium gold, sadly reminiscent of urine. Aroma was a little bitter, but mostly a grassy/perfume - Hite revisited. Taste, mouthfeel and aftertaste were all better than expected, with perhaps a hint of seetness in the aftertaste. Maybe the formaldehyde? Not the worst beer I’ve had. Re-reviewed: after having a fair whack o’ this stuff in China, it isn’t all that bad; certainly seems better taste-wise versus the Yanjing we get in N.A. Perhaps it doesn’t travel well?

Bottle, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a clear, pale golden, or rather yellow, body with a small, white head sitting on top. Some dms and a fruit-like aroma with grainy malts doing most of the job. Burnt plastic, pale malts and some fruity hops in the mouth, really thin. Hints of bitterness in the finish. Sort of drinkable, but I ain’t missin’ it at all. (090517)

Standard lager colored with medium sized white head. Rice dominates this sweet aroma with thin paper in it. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is even sweeter in start with fruits and lemon, same rise and paper come up in aftertaste. Well, hard to make difference between all these yanjing beers.

Bottled "Yanjing Beer." The aroma is disappointing but not off style. It has latex and grass hops with rice and malted barley. The appearance is pale gold with a head that is not impressive. The flavor is like the aroma but much better than expected. The palate is thin but refreshingly so. Overall a crisp refreshing beer. I just don’t like the latex hops used in it. Otherwise this would be a very decent lager. But certainly it is better than most that I have had from China.
