ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden May 12, 2008 Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Pale golden, medium white head. Malty, fruity, and slightly caramelly. Thin and watery, sweet with low bitterness. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Apr 6, 2008 Bottled (as Yanjing beer). Pale golden colour with mediumsized white head that vanishes quite quickly. Strong malty, grainy and rubbery nose with also rice in it. Also mild notes of rotten vegetables. Flavour is smooth rice and malts with not much bitterness at all. Watery and boring. deft (79), Sweden Mar 22, 2008 33cl bottle at Haket 2008-02-08. Pale with some light head. Not much going on in there, a very dull beer... Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 24, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Simply as "Yanjing Beer". Clear, pale golden with a dense, white head. Lovely aroma hops in the nose, but it’s gone in no time. Extremely thin and watery with a very soft and pleasant mouthfeel. Almost no malts to be detected, it’s probably all rice. And absolutely no bitterness. This is so thin that it hardly can be described as beer. 120208 TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Feb 17, 2008 Bottled (doesn’t mention premium, but 4.5 %, BB 11/2008)
Pale yellow color, not much head. Very typical nose for Chinese lager: corn/rice, skunkyness and cardboard. Watery palate. Crisp carbonation. Papery, grainy dry mouthfeel with some skunky hops. Some harsh and acidic rice-malty flavors. Sweetish aftertaste with notes of iron. Very standard Chinese beer. Plimmer (251), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 12, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Light golden clear body with normal size head. Lemon, grass and hops in the nose. Hops and bitter in flavour and bitter in aftertaste. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Feb 10, 2008 Updated: May 10, 2008First rating (33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) Pale straw yelow color, nice white head. Second rating (33 cl bottle, thanks to ekstedt) On May 10, 2008 BB 2005/11/08 Clear pale golden color, white head. Sweet, bubblegum, corn scent. Thin malty and vegetable taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. 4/2/4/2/7=1.9 sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Jan 30, 2008 (Bottled) Paleish golden with a small head. Very grassy aroma with rice-lemony maltiness and surprisingly also some alcohol. Quite malty, rice-corny, sweetish and fruity-lemony flavor with mild acidity and low bitterness. Not that light-bodied, smooth, but quite carbonated palate. Not that bad for a Chinese pale lager - it even has some flavor and body.
