Yanjing Beer (4.5% alc./vol.for bottle and 5% alc. /vol. for can) is naturally brewed with mineral water, hops, rice and barley malt, resulting in a distinctly clean taste. Yanjing has a floral nose and dry, crisp malty smoothness that provides a refreshing finish with an undertone of hops

Yanjing Beer has a thick, white head and a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, with some thin lacing left behind. The aroma is sugary sweet and grainy. Tastse is of the same, with a bit of paper and some light bittering thrown in. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Yanjing Beer finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and easy going. Overall, this is a very good beer, and I am so glad I was able to try it. RJT

2013-01-20. Crisp yellow body with a small white head. Mild aroma, light cereally grain. Very light alcohol. Flavour is a bit odd with an almost cidery fruity quality. Average to light bodied palate. Fairly inoffensive considering, but I don’t think I want to let it warm up. Can from LCBO

Have to say I don’t expect much from this. Very clear pale golden pour with a ton of white frothy head that faded very quickly. Grassy scent mixed with something odd. Sweet like Gasoline. Oily and sweet. Lots of grassiness and sweet malts. If this truly is the No 1 Beer From China I feel sorry for the Chinese. Not enjoyable but drinkable. This will be my first and last Yanjing

As I pour no head showing so i got a little faster and get big head. Its golden and carbinaded. Smell well my nose must be stuffed a bit cus I dont smell much of aNYTHING but do get somkething lightly that smells bad. Taste is a weird sweetness, watery taste, sits heavy and a bit gross and I dont like it.

500mL can, likbow. Took me forever to check if I’d had this. Took almost as long to find it in the list of near-identical beers on the brewer’s page. Pours a nice yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is indistinct and lousy, just some garbage malts and adjuncts, with some tin. Flavour is remarkably better, very sweet but also smooth and not harsh on the palate. Off-flavours are present in the finish but are rather minor. On a hot August evening this is actually enjoyable, especially for mass-produced Chinese shite. I probably just ingested any number of horrifying chemical agents, but oh well, such is life in the 21st Century.

Mine is a bottle, but I am sure it’s this version. China’s number one seller, but Ratebeer is banned by CCP. Bad beer scores perhaps? A real skunk of a beer. Like Heineken and then some. Also straw aroma, and color as well. Somewhat metallic. Tastes just slightly bitter - not much else, corn maybe. At least it’s crisp. Would be a good lawn mowing beer. Another so-so national lager tasked with being a national flagship.
