Nice straw/gold color; Light body; Aroma and flavor of grain/rice, cereal, and very light malt; Quite bland and watery; Pretty bad actually.

This tastes absolutely like I would expect it to - disgusting. Aroma is skunky and taste is like moldy hay. Looks bright yellow, but no head and lightly carbonated. The palate is tacky and this beer leaves a terrible aftertaste.

AROMA: some floral hops slight malt APPEARANCE: light golden yellow. white head. TASTE: distinctly lacking in ingredients for the no. 1 beer from China. Guess no one in China can afford real beer. PALATE: Very light . good carbonation. CO2 is cheap. OVERALL: a great beer if you compare it to Budweiser or Kokanee. otherwise a very disappointing excuse for a lager.

Bottle- Pours a pale golden color with a small head and no real lacing. Aroma is of grain, fruity sweetness and just a bit musty. Flavor is of grain with some fruity sweetness. Not much bitterness and a sticky finish. Light body, quite smooth but nothing else. Pretty bland. Not a beer I would seek out. It does go well with Chinese dishes and not much else.

The second beer on world beer Sunday this time from China. This one claims to be the number one selling beer in China so it must be good. Pours a pale golden straw color with a decent white head that shows moderate retention and minimal lace. Smell is sweet honey like malts, slightly grainy, a bit or earth, a hint of bread, slight skunk. Taste is sweet grainy honey like malt up front, stays quite sweet through out, minimal hop flavor. Medium to thin body, moderate level of carbonation, sweet candy like mouth coating mouthfeel. Number one huh? Iíd take Budweiser over this in a heartbeat. Hell Iíd take Tsingtao over this too. This is overly sweet with almost no redeeming qualities. One and done.

Bottle. Well chilled as suggested by brewery. Aroma, skunk. After sitting for a few minutes, skunk. Pale yellow orange colour with a fast dissipating white head. Lots of tiny bubbles. Sweet flavour with a little hop bite. Medium hop finish. If they do put maize in this, I canít taste it. Would be better from a tin, and on a hot day.

Pour from a 600 ml bottle. Crystal clear medium yellow brew with frothy white head. Aomra of skunk, toast, mineral water. Taste is light sweet malts at the start with a bit of bitter in the finish - just a dash of grass and some astringency. Palate is good - not watery or fizzy. For what it is and priced as it is this is OK, but nothing memorable.

Big bottles. Pale yellow-gold. Fizzy. Best drunk out of the bottle so you do not have to look at it or smell it much. Drank fresh from the big bottles, probably one of the better swills in Beijing and has a great price point--3 RMB (USD 50 cents) for a 650 ml bottle. So thatís pretty much 25 cents a beer. Could be one of the worldís cheapest. You know, I drank a lot of it and itís not that bad when itís fresh and cold, which it often is both from the small Beijing hutong vendors. Doesnít have the types of off-flavors that make some Chinese swills unbearable. My go-to for "yi ping pijao, bing-de."

Bottle. Gold bodied with a fizzy white head. Skunky and grassy hops with cereal and sweet malt in the nose. Taste is sweet malt, corny notes, light cereal grains, and faint grassy hops. Body is light-medium and has a fizzy, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, corn syrup, cereal grains and grassy hops.
