The_Jester (500), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jan 30, 2008 473 mL can. Slightly darkish gold with almost no head. Little aroma or flavour. I’m confused. Don’t get how this is a bock. Doesn’t that suggest that this used to be a doppelbock? I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought this. Macro swill.
Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2008 Clear, medium gold. Sweet, intesnely sweet with lots of nail polish remover and loads of other chemo smells. Sharply chemical acrid beer. Slimy mouthfeel, sweet and syrupy mess. What a horrid concoction. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2008 The head on this dies like it was mineral water. Corn syrup, chemicals and a lot of alcohol in the wretched stench. Really fizzy. You get a hit of sweetness before it gets absolutely vile with all manner of off-flavours. Awful on all levels, a true drainpour. Alraomon (63), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 28, 2008 Pale straw / blonde... seems very light for an eisbock style. Head is fizzy and very short lived, leaving very little behind.
Malts, a slightly herbal hoppiness, solvent and alcohol.
Not very good. Trying to go for the eisbock flavour, but it’s falling short and seems very watery. It’s slightly malty with an unusual solvent flavour.
Thin, a little sharp on the carbonation... this is closer to being a malt liquor than an eisbock. Not the most drinkable thing. Flavour is unpleasant, not much going on for aroma, thin, and watery. Not recommended.
As I get my notes, I see that this is listed in some places as a European Light Lager, which seems odd, too. Either way, not an "ice bock" in the sense that I have ever known one, and not very good.
Geth_in_beer (677), Nova Scotia, Canada Sep 28, 2008 Light golden appearance with a frothy white head. Honey flavour, metallic with a skunky finish. Very dull, smooth lacks flavour. Very sweet. Pushes the saw dust down the gullet. french tickler (505), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Sep 14, 2008 Shared with Pyrozoid
