2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle… Clear, light golden lager with a large, frothy, white head. Good retention. The aroma is a mingling of warm bread, an herbal root (?), biscuit and sake. Medium to full-bodied and a touch astringent with modest carbonation. Sweet, vinous, sake-like flavor. Odd, but not entirely unpleasant. Finishes crisp, lightly sweet, and then super abrasive and dry at the very end.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle with a cool picture of a ship on the label. Bottle from College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a clear orange color with a small white head. The aroma was quite a surprise; loads of sweet citrus, and sourness, almost smells like a Belgian brew. My initial thought was that this is not a pale lager at all. The taste was also very good; a zesty and citrus filled flavors, like lemon peels and honey. Some rich malts and fruitiness, very clean and quaffable. Kind of like a wit beer meets eastern European lager. Overall, an excellent beer, especially for the style. I will pick up more of these if possible. What a find!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Big blocky 500 ml bottle. Pleasantly surprised. Pours a dark golden with decent frothy white head. Aroma has some wort-like notes to it with a little bit of doughiness to it. Flavor has some faint honey accents with some raw cake mix flavor as well. Mouthfeel is slightly thick - not bad at all. Leans more towards a Bohemian Pilsener than just a plain pale lager in my opinion.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This was a very interesting lager with a nice fruity sweetness, that comes across very banana like. A little bit of chalky imbalance in the finish, but overall a very good lager.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice, malty aroma. Cakey - vanilla malt sweetness, medium bittering, some tart fruitiness. Tartness hangs on a little to strong in the finish. Seems to have a higher ABV presence than 4.5. Better than some Soviet-bloc lagers, not as good as others.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Glue and grass aroma. Hoppy at first, immediately followed by nasty flavors as glue, grass, metal and leak. Drain pour!!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was surprised by high ratings below. In reality, it's a fairly standard lager in "Soviet Zhiguli" style. Flowery, bitter, fruity and many, many more. Quite rich, but after drinking it for 70 years, there's sharp desire to drink something different.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lightish yellow straw in color, nice two finger high head of fizzy tighty whitey froth and excellent finely stitched lacing all over the glass. Light, crisp, fresh, and sweet malty aroma, slightly fruity and musty, with breadish notes. Taste is solid balance of sweet grainy malts and soft bread, lightly crisp like the crust itself. Nice light freshness of hops dancing around, slightly musty and floral. Good medium body feel, light grainyness and refreshing smoothness and an interesnting little fruity tanged finish, quite delightful. A nice surprise to say the least, quite mellowing and good. A pleasure from the Ukraine.
